So there was a thread recently about what we don't want to see return from DA: O and I found it interesting to see how many things I agreed with and how many were completely the opposite of what I would want. I figured it would be interesting to see the same thing from DA 2 since I'm replaying it now and there are some elements fresh in my mind.
Here's my list:
.) Over the top, comic-book like battle animations.
.) Tedious respawning enemies that attack in waves (I would rather fight 5 enemies and have to use strategy than fight 20 enemies and just button mash)
.) Companions that don't allow you to change their armor
.) The fact that the character creation screen doesn't happen until after the opening sequence, making it tedious to restart or play around with the cc.
.) Random (and superficial) cameos from characters from past games that don't seem to make much sense in the story
.) Same dialog system
.) Exploding bodies with blood enough to feed the whole cast of Twilight.
.) The animations, all of them.
.) Visual style
.) The Cave
.) Dumb looking two handed swords. Made all characters dwarfs automatically with their 9ft lenght.
.) Press a button sth always happens.
.) When someone is staggered, i dont want to see stars and stuff on their head like i am in bad children movie from the 80s
.) Linear story
.) dull open spaces with no npc's
.) Lack of interesting side quests.
.) Characters olympic gold medalist in acrobatycs.
.) Ugly enemy models. Darkspawn free game would be nice too.
.) Icons on dialogue wheel.
.) World map style.
.) Day/Night cycle excecuted better.
.) Family stories. I mean not only in DA2 but in bioware portolio. Just look at ME2. All missions of the squadmates are for family members, except Mordin, Garrus and Tali. Just naive and childish.
.) Everything interface wise.
These are all problems in my opinion, some small, some ridicilously big, but i am not making up stuff, those are real stuff happening, I hope at least 2/3 is fixed.
