For some reason I got it into my head that I might romance Thane this time around since I haven't seen that option before. But I have a few questions before deciding. (Note: Tabitha Shepard romanced Liara in ME1.)

1) Will bringing Liara onto the Normandy for some suck-face before the SM effect the Thane romance?

2) How does Liara react in ME3 if you cheat on her?

3) Since Thane is going to end up dead can Tabitha:
a) go back to Liara?
B) romance Traynor?
(I assume so, though role-playing wise it seems kinda silly to just jump into a new romance.)

4) Does the memorial service play out any differently if you romance 3a or 3b?

I don't mean to be annoying, but isn't finding that out on your own half the experience?

Why not make a save before bringing T'soni up to the Normandy then be with Thane(if it happens) before the suicide mission. If it doesn't work the way you want it to, go back to the save you made.

This is T'soni's reactions

If you decide to romance Traynor  she will be the one holding your namplate.

Not if I have to replay 40 hours worth of game because I don't like what I get. THAT is annoying.

By memorial service, I meant the one for Thane in the Citadel DLC.

... Wouldn't that just be another playthrough? Is that really a problem? I dunno, that sounds like a non-issue if ever there was one, but hey, fair enough.

Sorry for misunderstanding.

LOTSB doesn't affect any ME2 romance. Two-time as you will.

Thane doesn't lock-in as a romance. You can romance Liara or Sam, though you won't get the romance version of Thane's death scene if you lock in with Sam first.

Someone here -- crimsontearz? -- said that he won't play a game until he knows exactly what will happen at every step of the narrative.

Well, I think this pretty much settles it. I want to see how his death scene plays out with a romanced Shepard. I would also like to see how the meet-up in the hospital plays out. Besides, I was thinking about dumping Liara in ME3 anyway and going for Sam. (I just love that interrupt with Sam in Citadel, especially with Tali and Wrex as squadmates. "Errr, we'll just be over here.")

While it SHOULDN'T have any effect, locking in with another LI MAY affect the personal messages that Thane leaves for a romanced Shepard after his memorial service.

I did a playthrough where my FemShep was a bit of a who.re and romanced a different person each game (Kaidan, Jacob, Traynor) so it isn't all that silly.

OT:

1) No, not really.

2) The usual reaction a girl has when you cheat on them: she gets pissed.

3) a) Yes  B) Yes

4) Only if you lock in another romance before you do it.  Don't lock in any romances and you get the romance version.  Lock in a romance and you get the non-romanced version.

I like to imagine Liara just lost her mind and is accusing Shepard of going after everyone, and he's trying to explain, but she's already accusing him of the next. Video is hilarious that way.

Just by way of an update:

In our first conversation aboard the Normandy Liara never even mentions Thane. I thought she might say something the way Ashley does if you "cheat" on her in ME2. Instead, it plays out the same as if you hadn't romanced anyone in ME2. Makes you wonder just how good an info broker Liara really is!

Hmm. Does having wild sex on the Normandy count as being on break? :D

Well, now Liara is all upset after Shepard met with Thane in the Hospital. Her exact words were "I know you've gone back to Thane." So apparently she did know about Shepard's dalliance in ME2 but was willing to overlook it. I wonder what would have happened if Shepard hadn't jumped all over Thane. (A rather poorly done scene, btw. I would not recommend it.) I guess I can still find out since I made a save, though it would mean redoing an hour worth of play time.

Agreed. Just make a save before your decisions. BTW, OP, cheating on Liara? How dare you!

Oh. Vitriol and spite. That's original. /sarcasm

It's okay if you're still bitter about what was done to Thane. Disappointment is difficult to accept. You'll be okay.

Now I'm sure you'll come up with some biting or thoughtless response. Good luck with that. I wish you well. You're going to need it. LOL
