Any Solid RP Reason(s) Specifically For An Elf To Side With Harrowmont?

1.) I hate Vartag for various reasons.
2.) I have no desire to be a servant running around delivering messages across Orzammar.
3.) I love the Provings and the fight in the Chamber of Assembly. I find the Harrowmont questline more fun than Bhelen's, and the game is about having fun right?
I am not interested in any political nosense and such since I hate politics. All I need is any solid RP reason(s) why an elf would choose Harrowmont over Bhelen so that it makes sense in the DA world. Without my character appearing as dimwitted.

Harrowmont is a very traditionalist man, trying to hold onto the way things have been since time immemorial. If you're Dalish, that could credibly score him some points with you. (I was going to have my somewhat amoral Dalish go this route, but then her lover suggested going with Bhelen in front of Dulin Forender [subtlety be damned] and I decided that this decision was unimportant enough to her that she'd go with what he wanted to score some points.) If you're a CE who came to like the way the Dalish do things during your time in the Brecilian Camp, you might be able to go with this motivation as well.
I do see his traditional mindset appealing to Dalish Wardens but I am playing a CE warden, which makes the situation a bit more complicated. I plan on doing Orzammar as my second treaty quest to get Oghren earlier for some of his banter in the later treaty quests (specifically Haven for the "Dragon Wing" dialogue during the Kolgrim conversation) so the visit to the Brecilian Camp would come later.
I thought the way Vartag treated the warden as a servant/slave for his delivery quest would irritate CE wardens but I am unsure if that would be a feasible reason to do Dulin's quest instead. Plus his deceitfulness about the foraged papers does not help his case at all.

Ultimately, my CE chose Harrowmont because 1) she didn't really give a rat's ass about the dwarves, or politics and Harrowmont just seemed the easiest choice to get what she wanted. 2) Vartag reminded her a lot of Vaughan and other privleged nobles (which she hated) and Harrowmont's man was at least civil to her.
TBH, jumping through hoops like a circus poodle didn't make her happy and both candidates make you do that before you reach a resolution, and you can always switch gears at the end and put the other candidate on the throne instead if you like. So have fun with whatever you choose.

I agree with this. If you, the player want to support Harrowmont, all you need to know is that dwarven kings are elected and that the last King supposedly endorsed Harrowmont. Ignore the rest. You don't need a complex RP reason behind every choice. Simple ones are just as good sometimes.Star fury wrote...
Why should an elf care about dwarven politics and who would be a dwarven king? The only pressing concern for an elven warden(for any non-dwarf actually) must be a dwarf army, who will get it to the surface - Bhelen or Harrowmon doesn't matter at all.

If you do, however, not only do you get the seeds sown that Vartag and Bhelen might play you in the future, but if your CE has the sort of integrity that hates being deceitful about honourable people you'd have two good reasons to dislike/distrust Bhelen.

To be honest I do not like either Harrowmont or Bhelen at all; they are both very flawed individuals. I do not enjoy the politics of Orzammar and I do not want to "meta-game" for a slightly better outcome for Orzammar. I prefer have fun smashing skulls in the Provings and the Chamber Halls. I like the other parts of the Dwarven treaty quest including the Deep Roads expedition. Even if it takes several hours to complete.
