Okay, so the "nuke launcher" isn't really a nuke launcher...

Look how many time thing had name that made them sound awesome but it turn out to be quite disapointing

I say it make it all the more realistic!

A gun that actually launch nuke should be call the Virmisator!

That's a typo, they meant to put 25KG.

The projectile seems to be the size of a small football, so there's no reason for me to believe it's only 25 grams. Way too light.

Sure, 25g bullet would do a lot of damage, but it wouldn't ****ing explode into a mushroom cloud (definitely wouldn't carry enough explosives for an explosion that size for something of that mass).

Maybe they completely tweaked the mechanics, but in the video where that weapon was displayed the projectile was very large and moving at a speed similar to the Fallout 3 BIG BOY gun.  This gun describes a projectile that would reach its target virtually instantaneously.

I think you're right.  25g @ 18k/m would have the force of a kg of TNT.  250g @ 5.7km/s has the force of a kg of TNT.  So either the velocity or mass is low, technically.  Considering dreadnoughts in ME are firing 2kg slugs at 238km/s, I'm gonna go with velocity.  ME weapons, even portable ones, seem like they should be putting out significantly higher velocities than 5km/s.  Test railguns today, albeit not portable ones, are capable of that sorta velocity.

walking around with 25kg bullets is no piece of cake

So according to this description, the nuke launcher is actually a rail gun. We have those today.

All firearms in the Mass Effect universe are portable railguns.

All of the weaponry in ME, from Dreadnought guns on down to small arms are railguns.  Well, except for GUARDIAN laser systems and missiles/torpedos.  And the Collectors and Reapers seem to have beam weapons.

Uh...most of the weaponry in ME is railgun based :)  The thing is, they use mass effect fields to reduce the mass of the projectile, allowing faster velocities with lower recoil than would be possible with what we have now.

The nuke sticker probably isn't a warning perse, more of a joke from whomever builds the Cain because of the explosions similarity to a nuke when it explodes.

I have no problem with this weapon and anticipate using it.

Although I would have called it the Little Boy as a nod to Fallout's Fat Man.

You have no idea if it would have any kick whatsoever. It all depends on how the object is propolled. You get a kick in conventional firearms only because it uses a chemical explosion to propel it.

Kick isn't a big deal, anyway. A couple years ago I shot a semi-automatic 12 guage.that I could fire nonstop in my hand, as in not even put to my shoulder. Only had slightly more kick than a 22, which is next to nothing.

That size just might be the visual effect of the massive mass effect field round the projectile, and not the accutal size of the projectile.

25kg? thats 55 pounds..

I think its missing a 0..  250g fits current math.
