Wow I'm SOOO SCAAAARED of your martial arts! jk lol
Actually these are my goals too. Whenever I find some progress in my fighting skills I really find the sense of pride (beware of pride demon!)...
And two years ago when I was actually gathering info and contents for my non-novel book I was at my best mentally.

Oh you should be scurred, I'm the BEST  (on the Internet)...but yes, we should definitely watch out for pride. I feel like such a baddie whenever I learn a new technique or work with beginners. Until someone better comes along and puts me back in my place. x_x

This is a great topic to start the new year! I really like the above comments, congratulations on your successes. It takes a lot of perseverance to earn those achievements. I'd say my proudest moments are:

1) Earning a degree in a foreign country.
2) Learning martial arts (I'm quite introverted and afraid of physical contact).
3) Having some written works published.

The happiest moment in my life was when I learnt what it's like to be truly free. I was sitting by the river on a hot summer day. I fell asleep under the sun feeling absolutely content. I've never been able to do that in my home country. =)

Why?

Congratulations, KikoChuN7.  I take my freedom for granted and I'm glad you found yours.  I can't even begin to understand the bliss that must have felt like.

Thank you! I'm from a sandy place where women are on the same level as livestock. I always fought to do what I want, and it's pretty tiring. I received a scholarship and lived in the USA for a while - it was the greatest experience of my life!

After nearly 8 years of being together finally getting my act together and proposing to my wife.

Right now, where I stand in relative wealth and luxury after being near-penniless just years ago.

Building a car from scratch.

Hmmm...learning how to fly and successfully land a plane perhaps?

Sleeping by the river is prohibited in your homeland?

Oh, and learning english mostly by myself before I got to the courses for it. It isn't my native, I'm still pretty impressed with myself.

That's great to hear! How do you even begin to learn building a car from scratch?

Some pretty stock answers here, but true nonetheless:

- the birth of each of my daughters.
- getting my university degree.
- getting married.
- seeing my youngest overcome her almost debilitating shyness and accepting a role in the school play with one line.
- my oldest daughter's talent for and love of drawing.

It's not prohibited, but the high risk of harassment/assault made me wary of being alone in public. It's better now thanks to western intervention.

Well, learn what each part does and where it goes and acquire all the stuff you need. Years in the field helps too, along with a little inspiration. It's like Lego but more complicated and time consuming.

Mind you, it was mostly all for the fun and experience of it. I don't drive it around. :S

Since people are saying, "coming out", I'd say going to Pride for the first time also.

8 years, man? I'm not impressed. One could get a Master degree after finishing High School.

SergeantSnookie, I think the time-consuming nature of it is what makes it so impressive! I once tried doing that with a little stereo, but failed miserably. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie]

Our wedding day. Even though it was mostly a blur (thank goodness for our friend T who slipped me some cheese squares from the reception) it was easily the best day ever.

Winning 2 awards at a music game competition in Brighton, Michigan called Midwest Showdown 2. It was a very long time ago, but it was one of the heights of my life.

Performing Michael Jackson's "Thriller" for my sister in a college dorm room to cheer her up during a difficult time.

Creating PS:D, and a lot of the BSN song spoofs i.e. Ballad of Belle. The latter was a nightmare to make, and was worth every minute.
