If allowed to live, what do you think Anders is doing between DA2 and DAI?

If Anders survived you're doing it wrong.

Probably running for his life. I imagine he's on Thedas most wanted list after that little display of terrorism.

On second thought if DA:I gives you a second shot at Anders, I might go back to an old DA2 save and let him live. It might be more fun to have my ruthless Inquisitor have him burned at the stake.

I thought it was implied he was going to go off himself? Good riddance.

Anders was killed by a female dwarf in a bar fight shortly after the end of the Kirkwall Rebellion.

Since female dwarves don't exist in Varric's world, this story was never told.

I hope justice forces him to kill himself for all the innocent people who died from his actions.

Those people were irrelevant.

Nothing is irrelevant, not when an absolutist like justice prociedes over the facts. Justice is impartial, justice is blind, and justice is suppose to punish everyone equally.

Whine to everyone about how bad he has it and preach about how safe mages are.

And then he blew up a building or four.

I didn't killed him during my last playthrough, for science. I'm hoping to see interesting consequences about that during DA:I. Especially for Sebastian, I befriended him, I wonder what he will choose in the futur : blind revenge or the chantry. Elthina told him that death is never justice but despite that, he already choosed veangeance when his familly was killed during DA2. I suppose that his behaviour during DA:I (if he appears there) will tell us a lot about the depth of his faith and who he really is.

While Rivain might have once been an option, after their circle was destroyed there are way too many templars around rooting out stray mages.

Rivain? As in Isabela's and Duncan's homeplace? When did that happen? In Asunder?

Yes, that was in Asunder.  After Kirkwall, all the mages rebelled to some extent or another and because the circle in Rivain (it starts with a D but please don't ask me to spell it) was hit first and hardest because of its relaxed attitude toward seers and hedge mages, it was annulled.

He's indulging his favorite 3 pastimes:
1.Whining
2.Blowing up Chantries
3. Whining about people getting mad at him for blowing up Chantries.
In my play through he's dead

Unknown. An obvious clue would be helping mages against the templars in some way., but with his possession with Justice couls lead him aomewhere else.

Only problem is:
He never got mad at people after he blew the chantry. Angry people don't sit down and let you kill them.

My theory...

With the Veil torn, there is no reason for spirits or demons to possess people.

Their world and ours are effectively merging. Ergo, Anders (as a physical/material shell) is redundant and useless to Justice/Vengeance.

Most likely, Anders is dead anyway, assuming that my theory is valid.

Probably being a useless, whiney, hypocritical douchbag but that's something I'll never find out since I always kill him.

I romanced Anders, so... He and his beloved apostate (my Hawke) escaped Kirkwall together, and several months later he married her. Anders was the only one who stayed with my Hawke when all other friends abandoned her for their own reasons.
What happened next... I guess the Inquisitor will find out.

Anders is an especial case. Justice doesn't exist anymore, Anders is Justice. Besides in normal possession the link is from the fade and the demon/spirit controls the host from the fade but Justice was fully present in our world. This is why Anders case is different. The spirit he merged with was from our world not fade. Thus when merged with Anders Justice doesn't exist individually anymore.

This topic has been bugging my mind for awhile.
Just wanted to know people's thoughts about where Anders possibly is and what's he doing.

My biggest hope for Anders is that he found some way to ditch Justice.

Barring that, I think he's in trouble :( I mean technically "Anders" doesn't really even exist anymore. It's "Janders." I think Anders is one of the more tragic DA characters.

Really, writers, what were you thinking? *shakes finger* :P At least the few times I romanced him, hopefully Hawke is around to keep him calm and not too far gone under Justice's influence.

Otherwise, who knows what he's up to?

In my play through he is dead. The templars deserve what they got, but he also killed many innocents like the Grand Cleric.

She was a good woman and did not deserve to die, I got the impression she never wanted anything to do with extremist actions of people like Petrice and Merideth. The impression I got was that Merideth had too much power in the templar ranks and even the Grand Cleric could not keep her in line.

Same with Petrice, whic is why if she is killed by a Q'nari the Grand Cleric just turns around and walks away. She figures justice was done and lets the whole thing drop.

Maybe she should have challenged Meredith more openly but she did not deserve death, neither did any of the worshipers in there at the time.

Anders went too far, he got what he deserved. So between games I say he is decomposing, plain and simple.
