Does anyone think the M-11 Suppressor in ME3: Citadel is awful?

I think the suppressor on the gun is more just for show really, I doubt BioWare programmed any real stealth elements in. I rather think that during a heated firefight the enemy will notice/shift fire less and less with the M-11 being used as opposed to other weapons but that's just a theory.

There actually is something in the coding that allows it to draw less aggro in multiplayer, but given the nature of most of the single-player combat, even if it's still there it doesn't seem to be that noticable (plus Shepard is the only PC in the room, and the aggro thing doesn't work if there's only one player).

Ohh. That's why stealth was impossible. I guess this is an example of why devs generally shouldn't tack on stealth sections to a game like this. The game's AI was never suited  for it, and they didn't adjust it for the mission. The optional stealth mission in mark of the assassin was also frustrating.

I would love to see stealth as an option in future games. Hopefully we will be able to mix different types of abilities.

Add new abilities as we level up. A soldier might be able to add tech skills as they level up, a Biotic Tech or soldier skills, or more biotic skills. Though it might go agaistn the casual mindset that's become more prevalent in later games.
I guess they could keep the auto level up and let the AI pick a skill, for people that don't want to do those Roleplay things and prefers raw action.

I think it's a pretty great pistol. If it had Predator level capacity it would be pretty overpowered.

Maybe it was just me, but I heads shot one guy and then they all found me.

I don't know about you, but I would DEFINITELY notice if someone's HEAD exploded in the patrol that I was taking part in that was ACTIVELY looking for someone.  Stealthy doesn't translate into a "stupid bomb" getting dropped on your opponents.

Just saying.

The guy wasn't even in view of the other folks.

It's pretty overpowered. If you use it with the Lancer you find in the Archives, the battle with Shepard's clone is a joke.

All I know is that I never see it used in multiplayer.  In SP, I use it for that first combat sequence in Citadel DLC and then discard it.

There is no stealth mechanic in this game. Eg: notice how enemies yell out that you're cloaked even when they have no LOS on you.

The Supressor is the most overpowered gun in SP. The only things that balance it out are that it isn't quite accurate enough to snipe someone across a map with and that it's tempting to shoot off its entire clip even when you're not going to land all the shots.

I too, dislike M-11, albeit for different reasons.

First, I think it's overpowered as hell, and the sole purpose of its existence is to get you through the "Citadel wards: Ambush" level. Where you don't have any other weapon available. And my guess is that developers thought that DLC which mainly serves as comic relief shouldn't be all that challenging. For this reason I don't even consider it canon. I sure don't use it in campaign.

Second, I know it's suppressed, but the sound it makes is completely incompatible with the destructive power it dishes out. Ruins all the fun. I can't stand it.

Third, The fact that the gun has virtually no recoil makes matters worse. Again ruins the immersion.

Ideally, I think it should sound and feel more like M-5 Phalanx.

Annoying gun if you rely on powers. Mostly because the early combat areas really force you to rely on it to makes quick kills in confined spaces.

Lancer + armour weakening powers + ammo powers make the M11 look weak later on.

Because the clip size is ****, Does less damage then Carnix and has about same weight cost.

I think it is a gun that people that are terrible at the game use.  If you have to use that thing you probably play games on easy.

I thought it was perfect for my Infiltrator on Insanity. Energy Drain. Headshots. Sabotage drones. Cloak. Repeat.

But I get why it would be annoying if you're playing on consoles though, I don't think I could even aim that precise with a controller. I main with Black Widow anyway so I don't really need a heavy pistol.

It isn't as hard as people make it out to be to get head shots with controllers.

A lot of it depends on if the game allows you to turn aim assist off. If you can't the crosshair can get dragged to centre mass even if you don't want it there.

Harrier + Suppressor is literally the best SP weapon load for Soldiers in Mass Effect 3. Both weapons are absurdly good.

You need skillz.

Being fat turian helps though.

Don't want to appear smug but the SP in ME3 is IMO not hard enough (even on insanity) for me to spec my Shepard for maximum performance.

I usually choose my equipment according to role playing criteria (e.g. Garrus uses turian manufactures weapons as much as possible, etc.) and I think it just fits for my infiltrator to carry a sniper rifle and a sound suppressed side arm, even if it is technically not the most effective thing to do.

Besides, the suppressor is a fairly good gun (especially with head shots) and I really like it's sound. So yea, I am a fan of the suppressor.

Just curious...did you mean the SP in ME3 instead of ME2?

Imho ME2 is much easier. And I like idea of inflitrator with suppressed sidearm. :)

Yea that is true.  There are ways around it I do believe aiming down the sights disables the aim assist pulling it towards center mass. Or at least lessens it.

Oh, haha, yea, meant ME3 (that's what the topic is about after all, edited for clarity, thanks). ME2 is also not a big problem although the husks with armor really tick me off.

All that said, I do think I'd suck at MP because I love my pause button. :)

You find yourself not needing it in MP and having to readjust to SP when you go back. You just don't need that level of control in MP. Which is weird coz MP has higher difficulty settings.
