That post is designed to be a general broad-stroke comment on the subject in general.

I had the same experience. But then, I had the same experience on the Bethesda forum. Over there it was Morrowind fans hating on Skyrim.

What is it about game forums that people that don't like a game feel compelled to post? If I don't like I game I won't bother going to the forum for that game. Why would I? I only visit forums for games I am actively playing and enjoy. Why? Because I a) want to be a better player, find out about things I might have missed, c) share my like for the game with other people. Instead, I get piles of threads hating on this aspect or the other.

Constructive criticism is fine. I have my own critiques of the ME series. But there is clear difference between criticism and hate.

Dreamgazer, I'm afraid that 'Actual apathy manifests as absence and silence, not as loud proclamations' is an utterly basic tenant of human behavior that should be well understand by any adult. It's simple, simple reasoning. The fact that is continues to fool a great deal of people in this day and age is a testament to human foolishness.

If you consider that 'psychology,' that's not really my concern, is it? Tell me, can you perhaps offer an alternate explanation? An alternate explanation into why these people invest copious time into something they repeatedly claim they don't care about?

Bolded word is the key here. There shouldn't be any bullshit in the first place. Criticism? Sure. That's what they want but the people in this forum can't seen to criticise while retaining some measure of civility.

I agree. But my point still stands.

There will always be BS you can't avoid. AuldWulf would have still been preaching his "destroyers = luddite trash", etc.

I simply meant that if BioWare made a perfect ending (As close as you can get), with very little bad reception, people would not have gone so insane.

That cupcake thing was stupid and not everyone was involved in that. So if BioWare wants to refer to the entire community as toxic when the cupcake things was spurred on by a few butthurt fans, so be it.

BSN is...a weird place. I feel toxicity is a by product of this, many people with wildly different views are on this forum and when they scuffle things always get out of hand. Same can be said when a lot of people are upset about the same thing (See ME3 and DA2) and a mob mentality happens. Users here are also fond of personal attacks on other users (See the MP forums) and to top it all off the mods tend to be lazy and target the wrong things. There is no such thing as civility here on BSN and there probably never will.
