Do BioWare writers/developers still consider BSN to be "toxic"?

So I'm rather at a loss as to why this thread is in the ME section, with the entire discussion centring around ME.

The original "toxic" comment was made by David Gaider, one of the DA writers, who, AFAIK, never even visits the ME section.

He only mentions the BSN in general (and the Internet!), neither Mass Effect nor Dragon Age by name specifically.
That post is designed to be a general broad-stroke comment on the subject in general.

I remember coming here for the first time 1 year after the release of ME3, figured I'd find people here who love the game as much as I do. Instead, I found people threatening to never buy BW products again, people attacking me for actually liking ME3 and the endings and, in general, only people that seem to dislike everything ME related.
This forum is just as bad as the random MMO forum.
I had the same experience. But then, I had the same experience on the Bethesda forum. Over there it was Morrowind fans hating on Skyrim.
What is it about game forums that people that don't like a game feel compelled to post? If I don't like I game I won't bother going to the forum for that game. Why would I? I only visit forums for games I am actively playing and enjoy. Why? Because I a) want to be a better player,
Constructive criticism is fine. I have my own critiques of the ME series. But there is clear difference between criticism and hate.

There's nothing toxic and never has been. That's just a word invented by people who can't face criticism.
Actually, the word was invented by Britney Spears. Perhaps for the same reason too.

If you consider that 'psychology,' that's not really my concern, is it? Tell me, can you perhaps offer an alternate explanation? An alternate explanation into why these people invest copious time into something they repeatedly claim they don't care about?

My young padawan, you can't even fathom the power I wield. I'm not in this realm like you think we are, under BioWare's illusionary boot. I move amongst you people with an honest disinterest in BioWare products. There's no persona here, and maybe that scares you.David7204 wrote...
It's quite simple, although Dreamgazer is no doubt going to whine at me for explaining it.cap and gown wrote...

People here at powerless. We all are. We have no control whatsoever over whether BioWare produces a product that delights us, or frustrates us and disappoints us.
So we have a lot of very powerless, very helpless people frustrated and angry at BioWare for not giving them the product they wanted. They have a lot invested in the stories, and they feel betrayed and abandoned.
Nobody likes being under the power of someone they feel resentful towards. So what they do? They attempt to convince themselves they hate the game or no longer care about it or whatever. Because if they can do that, they're free. BioWare no longer has any control over them. So they come on here and whine and rant and make up ridiculous nonsense. Don't be fooled - the person they're actually trying to convince is themselves.
Seboist and Heretic Hanar are by far the most pathetic, but there's shades of it in quite a few people. Just helpless people trying to assert an illusion of power.

BioWare dug themselves into this mess. If they didn't make so many mistakes, there wouldn't be a need for some of the threads you see.
None of their mistakes warrant the amount of BS you see in this place.

True. But had they not angered so many people, the amount of BS would be smaller.Lathrim wrote...

Bolded word is the key here. There shouldn't be any bullshit in the first place. Criticism? Sure. That's what they want but the people in this forum can't seen to criticise while retaining some measure of civility.

There will always be BS you can't avoid. AuldWulf would have still been preaching his "destroyers = luddite trash", etc.
I simply meant that if BioWare made a perfect ending (As close as you can get), with very little bad reception, people would not have gone so insane.

toxic = hissy fits/mindless rants/hundreds of cupcakes/death threaths
That cupcake thing was stupid and not everyone was involved in that. So if BioWare wants to refer to the entire community as toxic when the cupcake things was spurred on by a few butthurt fans, so be it.
No respect for the differing opinions of people, I see.
