(I know, big whoop - but I'm kind of pumped because I just finished it.)

I'm working on my Solo Challenges...

I used MOI123's Asari Valkyrie on Dagger/Geth (Gold) strategy (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/343/index/15634813) to get my Bronze and one of my Silver solos in.

I used INVADERONE's Salarian Engineer on White/Geth (Silver) strategy (www.youtube.com/watch) to get the rest of the Silvers.

I used INVADERONE's Turian Cabal on Giant/Reapers (Platinum) strategy (www.youtube.com/watch) to run my first Gold solo.

As you might have guessed, I'm not as good as INVADERONE and I got downed a couple of times, but the strategy worked like a charm.  Successfully extracted in 'only'... 140 minutes (but it WORKED!)

Needless to say, I am not going back in for another 2 hours today, but I SHALL HAVE MY SOLO CHALLENGE COMPLETED shortly.  This is my final obstacle to my "Best of the Best" badge.  (Yeah, I know I'm not, but I'll have ground my way through it, and that's worth something - isn't it?)

Yeah, I'm far less skilled with an Acolyte than INVADERONE, so I made a LOT of circles around the map before I took out the Banshees.

Oh!  Many thanks.  I was confident I could do it, as I was using INVADERONE's build and tips for a Platinum run on Gold.  The strategy relies heavily on the teleport dodge to bypass obstacles on the map.  Even so, I almost got myself grabbed a couple of times.  There were a couple of tense moments as things threatened to go pear-shaped a couple of times, but in the end it was more tedium than guts.

That must of taken a ridiculous amount of patience. I know the feeling on your first try at solos, you get really paranoid and don't want to take any risks.

They get a lot easier with experience.

140 minutes - that has to be the longest successful extraction I've come across. Use the Geth Trooper and you'll cut your time in more than half

Time doesn't matter, all that matters is that you got the job done. I remember when I did my level 0 Gold solo against Reapers with only the Avenger X as a weapon, the time was 107 minutes and people bashed me a lot because of the time, but when it takes like 10 seconds to kill a Husk and when it is impossible to kill 2 Banshees without using a rocket then whatever time you manage to get is good as long as you complete the solo.

You will get better with more experience, so keep at it at soon you will be doing Gold solos in 30-45 minutes. If you're on Xbox then feel free to add me if you want.

Congrats, OP! Don't feel bad, my first ever Gold solo was something like 116 minutes as a Mattock Havoc. As long as you extracted, who cares how long it took?

Dunvi once managed to get over 1000 minutes, as far as I remember. I was in that game for a while and took lewd pictures of the lone nemesis after trapping her in corners.
