 Hello,

1) Can some one give me a list of all DLC's for Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2?

2) Is there an order in completing missions, scanning planets and visiting contacts in the citadel that will kept me from unknowingly locking me out of future missions or discovering new team mates?  This question applies to both ME1 and 2.

Thanks for your help!

1) ME1: - Bring Down the Sky (Story)
              - Pinnacle Station (Combat)

ME2: - Cerberus Network DLC (you should have if it's a new copy, it's various DLCs)
             - Alternate Appearance Pack 1 (Cosmetic)
             - Alternate Appearance Pack 2 (Cosmetic)
             - Equalizer Pack (Armor and weapons)
             - Firepower Pack (Weapons)
             - Aegis Pack (Armor and Weapons)
             - Genesis (Interactive comic book for those not importing a save. Not necessary for you)
             - Kasumi Stolen Memory (Squadmate)
             - Overlord (Story)
             - Lair of the Shadow Broker (Story)
             - Arrival (Story)

2) I don't think there is anything at all like that. You can choose the order of your missions with none or few consequences (small changes in dialogue). The only one concerning missions you should know about is that after (spoiler) your crew is kidnapped in ME2, you'll have to start the Suicide Misssion as soon as possible if you want to save them.

To my knowledge, there are only 2 DLCs for ME1: Pinnacle Station and Bring Down the Sky, and all of the DLCs for ME2 are still available through Origin.

ME1 and 2 are VERY open world as far as order is concerned. It is impossible to not encounter either Garrus, Wrex, or Tali (although you can decline to take any of these with you). Any of the Citadel quests can be left until you leave for the last time (after being on lockdown).

ME2 has slightly more structure to the story (Freedoms Progress, Horizon, Collector Ship, Derelict Reaper, Suicide Mission will ALWAYS happen in that order), but is even more open world in that you can do any or all of the side missions AFTER you finish the game proper. That includes recruiting some squadmates and Loyalty Missions. The only thing that would prevent you from doing every mission in the game is having a character die in the SM before you do their LM!

All the DLCs are already listed above, so there's no need to repeat.

I've heard that Mass Effect 2 freezes during one of the first loading screens if you import a ME1 file if you have the Genesis comic installed. So under no circumstance do I suggest you buy it.

As for the "when to play them" part, It's mostly up to you, though Arrival is meant to be done after the SM (it can be done before, but it makes a lot more sense to do it after).

I have never found this to be the case on the xbox.

OTOH, the wiki does mention something about a conflict btw Genesis and an import. Check the wiki.

I would just suggest doing Kasumi's mission first. In ME2, the first quest in your journal is to talk to Anderson at the Citadel anyways. From there, you meet Kasumi. You'll get a good SMG for her and Miranda early on (the Locust). Kasumi's also very useful to have for early missions. Her Overload is good against mechs and shields, and Shadow Strike makes quick work of a lot of other enemies.

One thing to watch out for in this regard is upgrades. If for some reason you haven't asked squadmates about their upgrades before their LMs kick in, the upgrade convo is locked out until after you do that LM. This can be bad if you want to get right to the SM rather than do all the LMs first, depending on what upgrade we're talking about. Although personally I think the SM is a lot more interesting if you haven't got everything arranged just so before doing it.

There's no real order, but there are times when you are required to do the next story mission in ME2. When you finish your first round of recruitments (DLC characters don't count towards this), your next mission is a story mission. After that, your next story mission occurs after you complete five (six if you know where to go) missions before the next story kicks in.

Not ME3 story or campaign related.

End of line.
