So for the last 5 or so weeks I have been power watching Battle Star Galactica, the new series the one with Katee Sackhoff, James Callis and the fantastic Eddie James Olmos. This show is amazing. I've always said the x-files was the greatest scifi show I had every scene but.... Galactica is amazing. I can't believe this show didn't when every award it was nominated for. I mean, I think The Sopranos and maybe The Shield were better, but this show was amazing. Anyway's just about an hour ago I finally finished season 4 and thus the series. And although I think it was amazing I am confused. So here's my questions:

Spoliers BTW, I guess that goes without saying

- Alright, so I know that they ended up on OUR Earth. But what was that other "Earth" that was in ruins and stuff, the one where the original Final Five lived, what was that "Earth" or 13 tribe/colony or whatever???

- What the hell was Kara Thrace 2.0. I mean she had like a Shep moment being brought back to life, then vanished into thin air, lol. Dafuq was that??? Was she real? Or like an angel or something?

- So, we find out that Hera was the "young female" that was discovered by "our" version of "humans" right? Now, the bones where of a child... So, what purpose did hera serve. She didn't repopulate Earth cause she died young right? I mean, like in this narrative how did our furture Earth (today's Earth I guess, lol) populate and come to existence if Hera died so young???

- So, I guess time travel was a central thing in the final explanations? I mean what does the phrase the hybrid say's "All of this as happen before and will happen again" actually mean?

- Okay about the 13 colony and the "Earth" that was explained to be cylon Earth and Colony. So then.... Where did they come from and who created them???

- This was in Season 3, but I'm kinda puzzled by this one. The capsule that was left behind on the base star that gave all the cylons a virus and killed them. So who left that there. The 13th tribe/cylon/final 5??? Wouldn't they be dead too? Cause their cylons right?

Okay. so the remaining toasters took the last base star right? Okay, so what happens to them? Are they just gonna go and chill out some where? I mean wll they be bad cylons again?

See, like I said, I'm confused. Thanks BSN. I look forward to some answers and opinons.

Even with all these questions the Finale and final few episodes were executed so well and the performances were amazing. The final battles were really cool and the final goodbyes and moments had me gettin' all misty eyed. Great show.

No. This is a Battlestar galactica thread question, not Game of Thrones. So... Yeah.

It's been a long time, and I tend not to rewatch things so I might get some things wrong, But I'm sure someone will chime in.

Spoilers obviously:

All Of This Has Happened Before And Will Happen Again
Is the main theme of the show. Humans make robots -> Robots become sentient -> Sentient robots become so advanced they become human. The cycle repeats.

In the show humans first came from Kobol (the first Earth they found). There humans made robots that became cylons, they nuked themselves and the survivors escaped to become the 13 colonies. The Five are the original cylons from this world. The 13 colonies advanced and made their own cylons, who then came back to wipe them out. The survivors of that conflict went on to become "our" Earth.

Did the people from Kobol originate from another cylon-human cycle or did they evolve there? Who knows.

The capsule was left by the people that left Kobol to found the 13 colonies.

There is a strong religious element in the show, the creator is very Christian. Kara coming back was an act of god, she was probably an angel there to guide the fleet to the new earth. 'Head' Baltar and 'Head' six are also angels guiding the course of events. Presumably God's been looking at people make the same mistakes over and over again.

Hera is the link that shows cylons become humans. She may have been the first but she wasn't the last. There would've been more hybrids eventually.

Thought it was a great show but I thought it felt apart a bit at the end. You should also try Babylon 5. The effects are a bit dated and the story is lighter but it's another good show.

Also had to add that SciFi/Fantasy shows never get any credit, even when they're awesome. They just didn't win awards, though with Game of Thrones being widely accepted that may change.

Okay, thanks. Like I said, there were some confussing elements to the show and some plot holes at the end, but it's probably the best acted and brave scifi show I've ever seen. The performances from top to bottom were incredible. Maccdonald, olmos, bamber and I think Callis was the best in my opinion. The show sure didn't shy away from the dramatic, I've never cried EVER for anything on tv or movies (other than Saving Private Ryan), but BSG moved me to tears throughtout the series, especially the end.

With all these issues of synthetic/organic conflict in the show and sapient vs. sentinent existence and so on, It would appear that this "chaos" needs some sort of regulation....

So bet it. :P:P:P

Still not as nonsensical as another certain beloved scifi series that ended, in shall we say, a bit confusing and controversial way.....
