not every female character has to be tailored to yalls teenage gamer boy fantasies, tough break. attractiveness can arguably be a part of a design but it isn't inherently required which a lot of you seem to have trouble comprehending considering the massive fuss that turns up every time a female character that isn't hot enough for you turns up. the sheer amount of "sexy ____" mods make that abundantly clear. 

i can't stop yall from feeling that way or complaining about it but i can tell you that i think it's a load of crap.

You make a lot of assumptions. Aveline wouldn't be considered the most attractive female in DA2, but she was my favorite female. I think Morrigan's new design is fitting for the type of character she is. I do recognize that Cassandra has a larger jaw than the last game.

All I'm really saying is that this is a valid thing to complain about. You and Gaider can insult the people who value looks all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that it's important to them, and that they have just as much right to complain about that as they do anything else.

I think the problem is the complaints all come from men towards female characters.

this is important too. the vast majority of these complains are from dudes who got their undies in a bunch because not every single female character in the game was designed to cater to their fantasies which usually involve them having a rather narrow set of traits. which is to say they all want hot skinny white 20something feminine models with pouty lips and a flawless bust.

ah i remember the outrage at aveline not being feminine or hot enough, she ain't even a romanceable character and some guys couldn't even handle a girl they found unattractive being on their screen at all.  

I know right? They complained she had too many muscles and was too masculine but remember how mad everyone got when she wasn't romanceable? More entitlement, lol.

Right, and saying "The men all look fine but the women have transformed into the square-jawed cavewomen version of themselves in most cases" is a really good, non offensive way to get your point across.

i do not care tbh i don't think i owe some kind of polite niceness to people who feel like every female character must be a) their favorite fantasy type and available to them

because it's not necessarily about one's taste in appearances on its own merit, it's the entitlement issue. if you don't think a character is hot, i don't care. i don't think alistair is hot and a lot of people do. that's a matter of taste. 

however im seein a lot of yall under the impression that bioware owes you an attractive perfect female character, that there is something inherently wrong with a character not being hot

I'm not making threads about how awesome or bad I think characters look. They will look how they look, and I will judge them in my game based on their characteristsics and behaviors and the overall writing and story, not how wide their jaws are. There is no "my opinion on their look is more important than yours" because I don't nit pick womens bodies (even fictional ones) because they don't make my metaphorical dick hard, which is essentially what is happening when you get people making threads about how gross Morrigan and Cassandra look.

Why do I (or Bioware) care that a few dudes think that Morrigan and Cassandra are unattractive? You think they're sitting there wringing their hands in worry? "Oh Gosh, some guys on the forums said Cassandras design is gross, what are we going to do? We're going to lose so many sales." No, just no. 

The entitlement comes from the fact that dudes THINK others should care that they find them unattractive. They go out of their way to make completely useless threads like this one, and continue to perpetuate the belief that Bioware fans are cave dwelling neckbeards who only care about their fantasy waifus.

i fail to see why the devs should feel obligated to hear out anyone whose argument is "the women have transformed into the square-jawed cavewomen version of themselves" or "They are revolting, Make them less so and there'll be less threads" which pretty much amounts to "they're not eye candy specifically for me and i am distressed because of it"

It's an aspect of the game, just like the dialogue wheel, potions and dragons.

People have a right to an opinion on it. Having any opinion of yours treated like an absolute joke will not make you happy.
