If it really is DERP, and if they are still targeting the same Twitch user, they went after every game he was playing on his stream. So if he switched to a Valve game....

Steam is downloading for me, Store is down though. As I say that it comes back...

Yeah I'm getting into Steam no problem. Haven't tried to get to my CIV 5 mods or anything though; when I have steam problems that's usually how I spot it (not being able to get to the workshop space).

EDIT: And of course Steam crashed their own servers with that sale a few days ago.  Which was absolutely hilarious to watch in spite of my desperate desire to show Mongolia what's up in Civ at the time.

Crashed their own servers? The sale has been going for a while tough? Picked up some games couple of weeks ago, but nothing new and worthwhile this time around.

EA didn't do it this time, a group called DERP is DDoSing them.

The store, community, and downloads are working just fine for me.

Steam is up intermittently for me. I can log in to my account; see that I have unread chat messages; and see who's online, but it will say that I have no connection most of the time. I also cannot actually see the unread chat messages, just that I have them. No store access, either.

They put one specific game on a crazy cheap sale on xmas day (I think) and getting onto their site was pretty much impossible for hours.  It was kind of funny.  It's been fine since until today as far as I know. 

I'm not the biggest steam fan in the world (not their bad just how other game companies use them, mostly) so I don't play a whole heck of a lot of games with them; they could have had problems in the days since that I wouldn't have noticed.  But I've been playing the Civ series since the first game came out in '91 so I do Civ it up (even if Firaxis went on my poo list with how they released the game through steam).

Still no ME love on ecks bawks. But the rest of the site (forums and HQ) functioning normally gives me hope that it will be back soon. I only have a few days left of unlimited play time and this is my game of choice at the moment so I hope we're back on soon. Only 11 more promotions until I can finally have that alt N7 banner I randomly decided I wanted.
