I see I touched a sensitive theme.

Honest question, since some of my brightest, most interesting and successful friends could be described as such.

Succesful? Otakus?

WHAT?

Sure. They've gotta pay for their shit, after all.

Oh, you mean now that they have a job? I don't know, I only remember the ones that I used to bully at the school.

One could say this thread has had a ... mass effect on their jimmies.

Picking on the anime geeks are you.

I see.

I'll do what the jerkasses who hated anime in high school did to me. Which is nothing, since I didn't watch anime and thought it was pretty lousy stuff myself.

To me, it's funny watching Asians try to make shows that have western themes in them. It's so completely bad that sometimes, I just have to watch it to give myself a good kick.

Hah. Yeah, the people you bully in school often turn out to be pretty successful later on.

I moved around to often to really be a bully. Plus, I was too benign. I wasn't in school to be a jackass, I was there to socialize and meet people.

But maybe it's just my background, but I don't understand this whole hatred for it.

It's basically the oldest institution in human nature. One of the oldest traits of life itself.

Question: Why do you think I was a bully?

Nah, most of the people I knew who were bullied are incompetent, insecure nervous wrecks who have a miserable life in a job where they're typically bullied by their bosses.

Sucks for them, but once it starts, it's hard for it to stop. A kid getting bullied in middle or high school has a safe chance of ending up in a really ****ty career.

I don't know, maybe because you are a soldier, and soldiers are usually douche bags.

Fair enough, but I know more than a few exceptions to this (though, yeah, the anxiety never seemed to have gone away with a few of them).

So are the people who make a generalization about the people in an entire occupation.

Without question there are more than a few exceptions yeah, but for every successful guy who had it hard in high school or growing up from his peers, you can be sure that there's an even larger pool of people who developed self-confidence and self-image problems.

People make generalizations all the time....it's as natural as bullying.

It's basically the oldest institution in human nature. One of the oldest traits of life itself.
