Looks like Bioware is still on the fence with multiplayer.

Well IMO I just don't think the multiplayer will be anything to grand since, DAI will be a cross generational game. XBox 360 and Ps3 have weak specs compared to current gen. However  It looks like they are trying to make a really strong single player experience though.:D

Also 360 disc space is like what  8 gigabytes. More discs equal more money, meaning this game is going to have to sell a lot of copies.

Good read overall. Nothing that new but still good. And as someone who will never play the multiplayer probably I am with you guys. But if they can find a way to shoehorn it in you know they will.

It seems like people really want a Baldur's gate Style MP, not some shoehorned horde mode.

I agree with you.  But if Cameron Lee is being honest and they are still trying to nail down how multiplayer would fit into DAI we will not get Baldur's Gate style MP.  If we do I would assume it would come out at a later date.  Which I think would be a brilliant idea.  You don't get that immediate backlash that comes with MP.  People that want it will go out and get it.  And if the game is great all those people who loved the game and want more might forget they hate the idea of multiplayer and try it out.  As releasing it that way will not "infringe on their single player game".

EA already mentioned over a year ago that they will have MP in all their games from this point on. DA:I will have MP, whether the fans or they want it or not.

They worded it as online component but I guess we will see. the game will be out in like 9 months, so we all play the waiting game.

Well since there taking the extra time to do things maybe they'll take the extra time to put everything into the game an have less early on dlc.

If Multiplayer is still "On the fence" I'd wager there's a good chance it might not happen. By their own admission, Bioware has been studying Skyrim, and I'd be surprised if at least one person didn't wave it in front of some of the business types and say "Single player only, ten million sales to date." And Bioware certainly has the pedigree and experience to pull off a comparable, if not match level of success in the Single Player RPG realm.

I'm not sure 'time' is the reason early DLC happens. :innocent:

Still on the fence with multiplayer? I was one of the people who was skeptical of ME3's MP but ended up loving it. If they *DO* make a multiplayer for DA:I it must work well with DA's style & not be needed for single player content in any way.(Instance: Getting a couple extra seconds for your SP ending if you played multiplayer got people mad initially before bioware changed it)

Perhaps they will find something interesting to do, but if they can't I would say not to do anything multiplayer related.

Being an EA game, I seriously doubt that it won't have some form of MP, especially after ME3's was such a hit with alot of peeps.

I don't mind co-op multiplayer its a good way to fool around with the combat without rolling a new character. It isn't very lasting at least ME3's wasn't for me. I got bored of horde mode after about five days. But sometimes I felt like playing an Infiltrator and ME3 multiplayer let me scratch that itch without rolling a new Shepard and leveling him or her up. So I'd just play one mp game snipe some Cerberus and go on with my day.

Aslong as the MP does not negatively impact the SP I don't care, I've never played MP in any game and I hate coop.

I was against mp in ME3 but I ended up really liking it a lot but Dragon Age mp sounds boring.

Well, it seems like MP isn't in the game yet if it is at all coming. That means it's not a priority which makes me believe it would be nothing but tacked-on at this point. I'd rather not have a half-assed MP when those resources could be put somewhere else. If they end up making MP with a lot of depth, then I'm okay with that. ME3's MP was addicting but you could tell it was something they just added months before. I don't really want something like that again. If you're going to add MP you need to go all out, IMO.

Sounds to me they'd rather focus on putting their resources into SP and quality there which is a good thing. One of the worst trends in gaming the past several years is SP franchises who feel they need to make these barren MP components that end up with a dead community a month later. Was that money well spent? Probably not if your community abandoned the game so quickly.

ME3's MP was so very simple and lacked any kind of depth mechanically. Where it grabbed a lot of people was that simplistic nature but allowing all these build combos with races+weapons+abilities. That's where the depth of the game really stood out in the MP. Bioware found something with ME3's MP and it would be in their best interest to expand big off that in ME4 with a lot of money/resources focused in that area. However, I do not want to see ME3's MP in the Dragon Age franchise. It would need to be something completely different and unique for the universe. I still would love Baldur's Gate MP. I think that's the most logical MP for the DA universe. The arena horde stuff...I just don't see it working well. Anything competitive wouldn't work either, IMO.

I think the Dragon Age Keep, for all intents and purposes, fulfills the requirement of an "Online Component" anyway.

Still, I can't be persuaded to outright dismiss the idea of a Multiplayer component in Dragon Age: Inquisition. I believe there's more potential with Dragon Age than with Mass Effect in delivering a meaningful Multiplayer experience, competitive, cooperative, or both. I'll admit favoring No multiplayer as a general rule though.

Of course the keep does not fulfill the multiplayer requirement.

They want multiplayer so they can charge for it, maybe add microtransactions.

sheesh..It's obvious.
