I picked up the game (360) and wanted to put in my codes and such.  But the game keeps telling me that the dragon age servers are unavailable.  Is anyone else getting this or is there another problem all together.

I've had no problem connecting to the servers. I entered all my cods the day it came out though.

But what other purpose do the servers serve other than redeeming codes?

I cannot connect to them either. And I've done EVERYTHING, including xbox in the DMZ and even formatting the stinkin xbox HD. I know it's talking to the servers, because if I try to create a new account, it'll send the email. But the ONLY response I get from the game is "Please Try Again." Can't connect to them at all. Been over a week now at least.

Not being able to connect to the Dragon Age servers shouldn't have any effect on your DLC's or playing the game. I always get the error and my profile still updates every now and then.. albeit very slowly. They've been slowly working on the site.. and it's just taking some time for them to handle the influx of updates.

Just picked up the game and can't log into my account. Please, some official word would be nice. What is going on?

I'm with Loki on this. Originally mine worked fine; then about two weeks ago; it says it can't log into the server on X360. But then I am still able to play the game just fine. So I am not sure what the error specifically does when it says it can't connect to the server and that it encountered an error. I bypass it and play the game still...?

We're having an issue with this as well. My husband was playing the Flash game and unlocked an item (the belt, if it matters). He was able to download this item and play his game just fine yesterday - today we're unable to access any of the games he saved since downloading that item. Every time we try to load the game, it says the the content isn't found on our storage device. When we try to connect to the servers to (re)download the item we get a "can't connect" message.

I'm definitely warning my friends away from the downloadable content -- so not worth the hassle!

Had the same problem with the DLC promos and my wife, anaea.

Here's my work-around that seemed (so far) to resolve the issue: I think it has to do with the dlc being linked to your account, but only checking your account once or twice a day. If your husband started a game after you did, for some reason the game allows him to use your dlc promo items. He starts a game, the items are in his inventory and everything is fine until the game checks with the servers again to see if he should have access to the items (on the start screen).

Here's what I did to fix my wife's saves:

Go to the Xbox menu > settings > memory > games > Dragon Age

Find the Promo 1 and/or Promo 2 (the offending dlc was two items for me, in different promos)..

Select and delete.

Log onto the game as yourself. The promo items will come up as purchased (no longer downloaded). Download the items again. Unplug from the network (very important).

Switch to your husband's account. The game will swear at you for being disconnected. Meh. Load the saved game he was unable to load. My wife's loaded fine again. I went in and junked and destroyed all promo items in her inventory and re-saved the game.

Then go to the start menu for the game. Plug in your network connection and tell it to connect to EA server. It'll give you an error message about connections, but mysteriously, you'll be able to download HIS purchased but not downloaded promo items.

When I loaded the recently saved game, the promo items appeared in my wife's inventory, but NOT the items from my account.

I'll wait a few days before I get too excited, but it has worked so far for us.

Good luck.

Your problem can probably be fixed with the following link, but be advised that you will need to establish a DA server connection to make it work:

Unfortunately, that's going to wind up being a widespread sentiment as a result of this problem. The solution is not intuitive (why would redownloading change anything?), and it's not entirely clear how this made it past QA, given the two-year plan for DLC.
