That's too bad. You might be missing out on meeting some interesting people because you're a bit put off by their personal aesthetic.Crawling_Chaos wrote...
If I ever saw ANYBODY that looked like SuZe (male or female) IRL, I would avoid them.

With all that ink, there's very little skin showing.
A half naked man can be intimidating, the VAST majority of the time, a woman with skin showing is being presented as submissive (sexually) to the viewer, but it is possible for a woman to be half-naked and intimidating.

Another favorite of mine is Chun-Li. Unlike almost EVERY other fighting game girl, she's almost covered from head-to-toe, yet she's undeniably beautiful. Also does for THIGHS what Tali does for HIPS. She's the first lady of fighting games, and she didn't need T&A to leave a good impression.
Rounding out my list of interests is Farah from Prince of Persia, a feisty, witty, talented, funny, beautiful, resourceful, and even tragic character with enough charisma for three games (good thing too since Warrior Within was such a shallow emo-disaster). Also mad props to Midna from Twilight Princess, Jenny from The Darkness, Jill Valentine from Resident Evil, and Heather Mason from Silent Hill.

I don't play female chars myself for a simple reason - I'm male and so I play male. Nothing special in it, simply the way it is.
You're not a space marine in real life (they don't exist) so I don't see where "I'm male so I play male" comes from. I'm male *and* I play femshep - nothing special either....

I agree with the second part but the first part doesn't matter, she practically wears a boob-guard and that's all there is above her waist. The ink won't hold up in court when she get's fined for indecent exposure.
And I don't use the term "boob-guard" as often as I should.
Doesn't really matter if she's wear the vest alternate; SuZe shows the most skin out of all the female characters.
Not that it really matters.

seriously, the internets is chokeful of threads about how "disturbed" everyone is about Subject Zero. This is a little too telling to not be embarrasing. I for one really LOVE that characterdesign, seriously, it doesn't mean that i would humb her in RL (but i'm not even sure about that), but for a GAMECHARACTER she is quite unique and badass, it puzzles me that everyone and their mother seem to hate her. There's already enough ****** and asses in that game to please the adolescent, we need something to counterbalance that. And i really love the overall characterdesign so far, just "Grunt" seems a little to obvious to me.
Strong women? Im not afraid of strong women, and I know many strong women that do not act like Subject Zero. I wouldn't necessarily describe her behviour as 'strong'.

In Jack's case, it does indeed appear as though she's been used and abused for a good portion of her life. However, not everyone with tattoos and piercings--Subject Zero doesn't have any visable piercings, by the by--had a poor childhood. There's all sorts of reasons why a person might engage in body modification, but self expression and a love of art are the ones that I encounter most frequently.

This includes Ashley, Wrex, Grunt and Subject Zero for now. I like to have them around for more variety, but I can't say I'm much of a fan of them and definitely won't go for any romance options for those available.

She has a lot of attitude, she has "cool" if you like the slightly crazy, fly of the handle sort, but STRONG is kind of projecting, no? Strength is so much more than that.
If you had a strong woman without the need to "prove" how strong she is, would gamers reject her too?
If you had a strong woman who didn't fly off the handle, would gamers scoff at her?
If you had a strong woman who didn't have to overcompensate by letting her bewbs hang out, what then?

Eloquently put.
It seems to me that far too many people are looking towards her appearance, and making assumptions based on that. Let's be honest here. At best, we've seen half-a-handful of clips of SuZe; nowhere near enough to build a meaningful character profile.
