Hello! I am experience a heartbreaking problem of staggering proportions. Please halp.

I used Gibbed to edit my ME3 save in order to fix a problem I had with my ME2 import. Apparently though, loading things into Gibbed has some unintended consequences and I've since had to edit a few other things that got flipped on or off just by going through Gibbed (the resolution of Jacob's loyalty mission, whether Liara came to tour the new Normandy or not, etc.) but now I've found another flag that Gibbed changed that I can't figure out how to undo: Balak from Bring Down The Sky is apparently flagged as dead, even though I let him go. I just finished Priority Citadel II and I'm seeing Gorek instead of Balak in the E-24 Docking Area.

Does anyone know the bool #/int, etc, whatever magic formula I need to set Balak as ALIVE in ME3?

The only flag I see is whether or not Bring Down The Sky was completed or not, no flag for the hostages or Balak's survival. I'd love to find an answer to this because this is the first run where I let him live, specifically to see his appearance in ME3. My Shepard has the Colonist origin so letting a Batarian terrorist go was kind of a big deal for him and I'd love to have it reflected in the last part of the trilogy. If worse comes to worse, I can deal with Gorek instead but my heart would grow three sizes if anyone knows a way to flag Balak as alive for ME3.

Thank you.

He's a filthy Batarian. Better off dead.

True, but he needs the war assets.

Check this thread: http://social.biowar...ndex/9776690/39

Pages 39 (middle to bottom) and 40 (top to middle) seem to adress your issue. Hope it works

From my quick look, setting 17291 to false and 17315 to true should do the trick

Well, I tend to agree. But this is my first playthrough with the Leviathan DLC and I know he drops some knowledge about that, plus for my Shepard it made sense as a moment of personal growth at that point in the story to save the hostages over killing Balak. Personally I feel it's better to kill him so he can't escape to threaten anyone else, but it made "story sense". I'd especially like a way to fix it since I went against my own instincts by letting him live in order to see the effects of that decision in the game.

But, yes, Batarians are always bad. Never not kill them.

Gorek is a separate quest. He's pissed off because of the Alpha Relay. He's is the wounded Batarian whose life support you can shut off. Balak's quest is the one you get from Officer Noles next to C-sec on the Presidium Commons.

I didn't realize that! Maybe I've jumped the gun here, then. Should this quest be available to me now? I am currently just after the Cerberus coup on the Citadel. I'm also away from home and can't check but will as soon as I get back. I have never had Balak alive in my game so I just assumed he and Gorek were like a Wrex/Wreav kind of thing where one or the other turns up in the same place. Thanks for the heads up.

Both the wounded Batarian and the diplomatic codes quests become available right after the coup.
