I'm suffering from a rather annoying bug involving Aldeth in Cloakwood. When I go to talk to him to start his quest, he just tells me to go away and to stop talking to him. My reputation is at 20 and I've had every single party member try to talk to him at least once but no success there.  I've done everything but the city of Baldur's Gate and the Tales of the Sword Coast at this point. I'm using Tutu and the BG NPC Project if that helps. I tried starting the quest immediately after the Bandit Camp but that's where I ran into the problem. I played through the game with similar mods before on a another computer a while back and didn't encounter any problems at the time so I have no idea what I did wrong.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? I just want to be able to do all the quests in the game as a completion it's and this has been bugging me for a while. Any help would be appreciated. I'll even go for console commands or stuff if I can just start the quest. Even things that would reset an area would be appreciated if it makes the quest doable.

Would it be possible to use Shadow Keeper to fix this problem by resetting it. If so, what would I need to do since I have no experience with this kind of stuff? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

It may be something to do with the fact that Aldeth represents the start of a quest for Jaheira in the NPC project. Is she in the party? If not then try adding her in and talking to him again.

Yeah she has been in my party the entire game. The same thing happens when I talk to him with or without Jaheira.

I think the check is low charisma and low reputation. Fail once and Aldeth won't give a 2nd chance unlike many.

Oh that explains it. My character had a low charisma when he talked to Aldeth. That check seems rather inconvenient especially if there's only one chance. Thanks for your help. Might as well move on with the game.

Always put a high charisma character at the top of the party. There are several formations you can use which let you have say, Imoen in the #1 slot for conversation purposes but standing behind meatshields for fighting.

I have noticed that shortcuts on the page take me to adverts. Is this Bioware's doing or do I need to switch on a pop-up blocker?

There are not any intended short-cuts on this page. If you're seeing them that suggests you've got a malware infection - there are quite a few programmes that introduce links to adverts in that way. Try looking at your list of installed programmes to see if there's anything recent you don't recognise.

Thanks. The two programs that could be causing the problems are Wajam and Smart Popup blocker version 1.2a.
Apparently Wajam is connected to linkedin, so there is a possibility of the problem being there.
Did a search for Wajam and there are multiple sites extolling its virtues and one saying that it is malware and download a program to get rid of it. I am rather suspicious of that sort of web page as I could be actually importing a virus. I am therefore doing a full system scan before doing anything else.

Help would be welcome. You can message me as this would clearly be off-topic and is nothing to do with Bioware.
