List of Accolades Received by Frozen

Track Frozen's Total Worldwide Gross Here

Disney's latest animated film came out in late November, and its been lauded by almost everyone who's seen it(from my experience). Near universal acclaim- achieved. It certainly has my stamp of approval, I personally would give it a 10/10 and I definitely feel its the greatest animated movie Disney has put out since the Disney Renaissance

Its so good that it has its own internet-strong fandom now, much like some television shows do like Supernatural and Doctor Who, and other animated shows like My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic(eeeey) and RWBY(heeeyo).

The movie's soundtrack has also been lauded for its quality and has the stand out performance of "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel, which I highly recommend you give a listen to. I love it to death.

And now, Frozen's breaking records. Its become Disney's highest grossing non-reissued animated film in history, outgrossing The Lion King, which itself held the record for 20 years.

It has grossed over $1 Billion.

Its been nominated for dozens and dozens of awards, and won more than half of them.

So, I want to talk about it with you guys. Post some fanart, talk characters, discuss exactly what made this film such a grandiose success, debate what could've made it better, etc etc

So tell me, have you seen it yet? I've watched it twice now, and would like to make a trip to see it for a third time, this time in 3D as its meant to be seen.

If you haven't, please do. Its a fantastic film and I highly recommend it.

Dude, just to give you an idea of the work that went into Frozen-

Rapunzel's hair in Tangled had 27,000 individual strands.

Elsa's hair in Frozen had 400,000 individual strands.

Another fun fact-

A single frame of Frozen took 30 hours to render.

Can I link it again? I want to link it again.

"Let It Go" by Idina Menzel

There's also another version by Demi Lovato

"Let It Go" by Demi Lovato

The song was written with Idina Menzel in mind- notice Elsa's tone change throughout the song, as Elsa's mood changes

The rich detail that went into this is fantastic

Once it comes out on Blu-Ray, I'll have to purchase it

Bonus points if it also comes with 3D Blu-Ray cause I hope to have that available to me as well

You can tell when watching this film that its meant to be seen in 3D

Hah, its still brilliant when not in 3D.

The movie is heavily influenced by Scandinavian cultures, which I really loved, given my own ancestry.

Apparently as I'm not the only one - but the trailers pulled me away from not wanting to see it, but all I here is praise. I'll check it out soon!

I have to make sure my father never watches this movie. If he does, he's going to point at Elsa and be like, "This is the kind of a girl I want you to marry and make a Princess"

I know dad.

"Hey, remember that girl from the film"

I know dad.

"Remember when I said I'd hope you'd bring some Scandinavian back into the family-"

I know dad.

"You can love anyone but I hope its someone like-"

I KNOW DAD.

"Hey, have you found someone like that girl from-"

GODDAMN IT DAD I KNOW.

*Dad moves to Sweden*

I hate life.

Thank you. The movie's already grossed over 600 million worldwide. Its getting higher as well.

It actually is the third best selling movie in its 5th and 6th week in theatres since release, behind Avatar and Titanic.

That should tell you. People keep COMING BACK TO WATCH IT AGAIN.

I wasn't going to watch it as I usually don't like the "princess" Disney movies, but this one was different and I'm glad I watched it. I love the Let It Go song and I think Olaf was the best part of the movie for me.

My favorite part in the movie..

I liked it and a lot of the humor it did. Seemed well paced, and used appropriately, and I liked that
<SPOILERS>
<SPOILERS>

There was no real villain or evil anything to fight until the end of the movie. It was a misunderstanding that caused all of this, coupled with past events which we see cumulate. It is rare, especially in a disney film, for there to be no obvious bad guy, and I felt this movie pulled it off well. The twist of boyfriend prince being a manipulative and not so charming guy were hinted at subtlety, perhaps too much so to the point it might come off as a asspull to some, but I loved that disney dared to go after their own formulas and basically criticize their bread and butter in a way that didn't beat you over the head with it.

Twas truly an excellent film worth remembering for some time to come. It is also about time to, since dreamworks has been, for a while, dominating the genre of animated general audience films in terms of quality and writing, kung fu panda and how to train your dragon coming to mind. This will definitely be joining those titles as top favorite animated films.

I was completely surprised about how much I liked Tangled when I finally watched it (not on the big screen). So that's something that gave me hope I would like this one as well. And for the most part I think it looks fantastic. I'm listening to "Let It Go" regularly, and there were a few instances of me considering to go see the movie. But...

...what's with the damn snowman? He was all over the trailer I watched. I found none of his scenes funny or endearing, and I seriously dislike his design. How big is his role, how much screen time does he get really? Did you guys who watched the movie like him?

edit:

I see I got :ph34r:ed while leaving the PC before sending this. Okay, that's some serious snowman approval right there. Noted!

Snowman was deceivingly endearing. Thought his scenes would be hell to sit through, turned out they had some of the best visual gags and funny dialogue of the whole film.

To those of you who've already seen the film, which of the two princesses did you like more? Anna or Elsa?

For me, Elsa.

Anna. I love her red and white hair and she was just too cute.

I love Elsa because she was quite the unique character. A total badass too, unexpectedly. Dat voice, my goodness.

I like them both a lot, though I would have to say elsa. She just has this overwhelming energy that makes it too hard to not like her or see where she's coming from. Elsa was another terrific character, for different, more tragic hero type reasons.
