That was sudden. I was expecting it to surpass The Lion King and that'd be that.

While were on the subject of derping, I was looking through the first few posts to the thread...

Whelp, guess I'd better go and see what all the fuss is about whilst its still in cinemas.

If Let it go is anything to go by, it should be good stuff. I normally can't stand songs in my movies (Disney arent usually so bad, mind) but that's certainly an exception.

Never went to see the Finnish dub myself, since I always preferred seeing the original version. I admit now that I should have went and see it at least once.

 

I don't know if becoming a parent has made mush of my brain but I really loved the Finnish dub. So much so that Elsa in English sounds wrong to me *ducks*! I used to hate all dubs, even as a child, but the quality sure has increased during the past decade. If it wasn't for my kid, I only would've seen the original version, but now I'm looking forward to watching Frozen on DVD on both languages, and I'm definitely grabbing the Finnish soundtrack once it (finally!) comes out. The original one I already have, and the junior is happily singing Let It Go by ear even if she doesn't understand any of the lyrics

I'm thrilled that Frozen has passed The Lion King! Can't sell a female protagonist, they said...

I barely noticed the male characters the first time I watched the movie. Elsa and Anna could nearly pull off the entire plot without them, minus a few subplots. I just thought Kristoff was weird guy with a slightly creepy relationship with his reindeer and Hans... *cough*.

Aye. If anyone was still foolish to think you can't sell a female protagonist, they need only look at that billion. Elsa and Anna carried that.

I can't believe people compared a Disney pop star to a Tony award winning actress like Idina. Nothing against Demi, but Idina's just on another level.
