130 million views for Let It Go, and the billion+ climb for total gross continues

So the gross should pass The Dark Knight when it updates this weekend?

Frankly anything at this point is just gravy.

Unless it manages to out-gross Phantom Menace. That'll be a favour to the universe.

Needed to see if there was a metal cover for 'Do you want to build a Snowman?' after that.

There is.

Oooh yeah, I'm wondering, how are you gonna explain it to the fam Earthbound when Frozen passes The Hobbit(the first one) either today or next week(likely next week)?

The climb continues, 17th place now. Its just gradual at this point, anything big will have to come from Japan and they'll finally have Frozen starting Friday.

In the most sarcastic and condescending way that I find possible.

And any retort they make can easily be followed up by making them actually watch it. (It'll be the 31st soon...)

In any event, they recently watched the Doctor Who Christmas special and came to the conclusion that Capaldi would make a 'rubbish' Doctor as he's 'far too old'. (I needn't point out the blatant stupidity in that remark.) So they're now fresh out of credibility, and I won't be getting too worked up about it.  :P

Literally the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time(13 Doctors exist, eight of them were 40+ at the start and end of their tenures as The Doctor- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, War, 9,). Capaldi shares his starting age as The Doctor with Hartnell(55), the very first and most respected. Hurt, when he played the War Doctor, was 73. Thusly,

All credibility lost.

Their opinions=Worthless.

They are bad and they should feel bad.

I would throw things at them. Hard things.

But then, their contempt/distaste for something can apparently be seen as a compliment, as whatever it is they dislike must obviously be good/fantastic/watchable, so hey.

Says good things about Frozen actually.

All true statements. I was just laughing under my breath when that Capaldi comment came up and left it at that, knowing they were forever lost.

They'll watch Frozen because I've already told them they will, (which I will be throwing at them, the digital copy on the largest external HDD I can find) but after that, they're opinions will only ever be met with an 'ok' and perhaps the occasional look of disdain.

Fight the good fight. DW-wise, read them the stats I just listed. Frozen-wise, throw ice cubes at them until they get the point. Or sing. Sing incessantly.

'Actually he's not.'

'What do you mean he's not?'

'I get the feeling you don't know.'

'What do I not know?'

'Most of the Doctors were really, really, old though...'

Sadly, let it go would be the more likely song, for obvious reasons...

Shouldn't be too difficult. It's hard not to around them when they keep on with claims like that one for Capaldi.

We ended up grabbing it on Amazon Prime so I can finally say I'm part of the 'finally saw Frozen' club! I loved it just as much as I was hoping I would by periodically poking around the topic and seeing the concept art and the like. Off the top of my head, I don't think there was a song I didn't like. As someone who is kind of picky when it comes to comic relief characters, Olaf really has to be one of the best I've seen in recent years. Yes, Tumblr kind of spoiled the hell out of the movie for me before I actually saw it but that didn't really change how I felt about it at all. Needless to say, Let It Go has been stuck in my head since and I absolutely adored everything about the scene it took place in.

This will be a weird little tangent and I'm not fully sure I can make the point make complete sense out of my head, but I'll try. What with having watched both Frozen and Tangled fairly recently, I can say that I really do appreciate the direction that Disney is going in. The dark scenes are properly dark, and they definitely aren't beating around the bush anymore. Yes this could be relayed back to even the Lion King, cause Scar's death was fairly graphic for my then ten year old eyes but between the later dealings with Mother Gothel and Elsa's standoff with the two guard near the climax of the movie, I'm actually fairly impressed with how they're handling antagonists.

Oh and as a younger sibling between two sisters, Elsa and Anna's story really meant a lot to me because the two of us are currently in our thirties now and at times have had strained relations. Now that we live together again though, I think it's given us time to patch things up so the climax of the movie really meant so very much to me.

Let's see if I can figure out the new spoiler code :P Lion King, Frozen and Tangled spoilers below.

Spoiler

Sometimes I just chalk it up to me not rewatching some of the older movies in a really long time so they aren't quite as fresh in my mind, but some things like the previously mentioned Lion King one, stuck with me.

That's one of the reasons why Disney is so grand. Their stuff tends to have a lot of pretty down to earth or hard hitting moments amidst all that fantasy.

Both Frozen and Tangled had serious OMFG moments completely nailed towards their corresponding ends. You just don't see that at all with other western animation, with only a handful of exceptions.
