SpoilerThank you. Your interpretations do make sense.
I think the writers struggled a bit with a quick solution to the deep and difficult problem they created for Elsa. The whole movie is about the unpredictability of her powers, and then near the end they still had all this snow and ice but they needed a happy ending. I think it would have worked better if they had given Elsa a moment to reflect on her powers and the problems she was having, why she was able to build a beautiful palace but lost control afterwards again, and then have her realize that it were her fears that were causing her trouble. She could connect this back to what the troll king had told her years ago, and BAM! Solution!
Love! No fear! Yay! I feel a little extra step would have prevented it from feeling as rushed as it did when I first saw it.
Sorry, I should have nuanced it more. I feel it's overhyped when it's presented as: "omg, best Disney movie EVER!!!". While it can certainly be the favorite movie for some (or many) it is hardly a universal truth that this movie leaves everything else in its shadow. That is not an insult to Frozen, but a compliment to the many amazing things Disney has created. This thread and all the hype really had me expecting something that would make everything else pale in comparison, but in the end it did not rise above gems like Tarzan, Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame or Tangled (I can't decide which would be my favorite
), imo. My main gripes are that I had hoped for a few more funny moments, and the slight rush of the ending.
I definitely agree, that last bit could have used some more time. As a general rule, a film shouldn't have to have some guy on the internet throw paragraphs at you to get an interpretation that makes sense.
And at the end of the day, that's just my interpretation...
But yeah, all in all, I think it makes sense. But, they should have totally shown a bit more in that scene to emphasise exactly what caused her lack of control. Have Elsa making a few very minor mishaps with her powers, maybe in the credits even, with Anna helping her keep her cool or something. Not just immediate 'Skating party!' and were golden for good after one incident.
Or maybe its just a Disney film and we're over thinking things... ![]()
And as for liking Frozen more than the other Disney films, I know they're all mostly on par, but for me it's literally just their modern animation style. I know that's an unpopular opinion and most prefer the old stuff, but I've said it plenty of times in the thread, I can't get enough of it.
That liberal enough for you Prince? ![]()
