I must say, dealing with all the stresses of a uni application has been completely negated by the Frozen soundtrack.
Think I've had 'We Were So Close' on repeat for the past three hours now.
Frozen for audio therapy.

I've actually been playing the soundtrack and score throughout the day.
My mom had Let It Go on repeat.
Lots of Frozen soundtrack throughout house.

I have yet to convert my full family. My sister went with me to see it, and she loved it.
However when I said to the others I enjoyed it more than Desolation of Smaug (family of Tolkien buffs here) there was much uproar and questioning of sanity. Not enough for them to go and watch it mind you, but still.
Needless to say I will be forcing it down their gullets the moment I get hold of a DVD copy.

Sounds like they're gonna go in looking for any excuse to say it sucks, i.e. nothing will convince them its as fantastic as it is.

Hopefully they'll come through. They're massive Disney fans too, they have almost every film, hence why I was able to find Tangled when I didn't even know we had it.
When I watched DoS I went on about how it was my favourite film ever, so they probably had a hard time believing me when I watched Frozen only weeks after and did the same thing. That and they probably wonder why their son has a sudden interest in what they believe to be a princess movie, lol.
Additionally they're of that group that think Disney's losing their touch by not sticking to their traditional animation. (Coincidentally they haven't watched Tangled yet either) I'll sort 'em out.

If anything, Frozen proves Disney's got the right idea.

Absolutely. I needn't go on about how much I think the animation is a step in the right direction. I find it leagues ahead of both their old stuff and pretty much any other CG animation on the market.
A lot of the scenes simply wouldn't be the same otherwise. You just cant convey the depth of the stretching vistas of Arendelle and its awoken sky without it.

It would've been beautiful hand drawn, just not the same way. It wouldn't be what it is. Wouldn't be nearly as marvelous.

It all comes down to that mismatched pair once again: people and change.
The two don't play nice together.

At least we know we would've had the amazing fan art regardless.

Yup nothing'd stop the fanbase.
I forget Anna has that streak in her hair.
Elsa should seriously open a hair salon. She'd only be able to dye it one colour, and each attempt would be potentially lethal, but once your done, your sorted for life.

That totally sounds like a terrible idea.

Yeah...it does.

Elsa sure went through a lot of design concepts, both as a character and visually.
And Anna looks terrified.

God, I never would've liked Frozen as much as I do if she would've ended up like they originally planned her.

Posté 15 janvier 2014 - 02:24
It was certainly a lot less interesting, having her as simply villainous.
Good thing they cottoned on that they could do so much more.

I'm gonna thank Idina Menzel for that one.
