Frozen is as ridiculously popular as it is because it foregoes Disney stereotypes you commonly see in their movies, its soundtrack is top notch Broadway musical quality, its score is a perfect Scandinavian-inspired compliment to the events of the film, it doesn't have a runtime issue(too long or too short a film), its animation is of very high quality, the attention to detail was quite extensive, and the plot is hands down one of the most solid plots ever in a Disney film.
People are rightly saying that its the best film Disney's put out since The Disney Renaissance.

Huh. Sounds interesting. I was hoping to get the opinions of the common folk and not rely on the word of puffed-up movie critics.

You might as well say it gave a ... solid performance.
Bazinga...
Ice is solid, cold, frozen, just me? I should go.

I highly recommend you make a trip to a theatre to see it. I failed to mention in my previous post that its characters are multi-dimensional and their plot threads don't go in expected directions, adding to the film's popularity amongst its fans.

You do have to hand it to the writers for having the stones to comment on the negative effects of hasty love. And the "Let It Go" sequence is probably the best musical / animation display to come out of 2013.
I definitely prefer Tangled, though, and Frozen borrowed a lot of its charm from it.

Speaking of Let It Go, the award Frozen won tonight at Critic's Choice was for Best Original Song.

If it's reminiscent of the movies from the Disney Renaissance era, then I definitely want to see it. Other than The Sword in the Stone, my top five list of Disney movies is filled out by movies from that era.

Note that Frozen broke a Renaissance-held record. Frozen domestically outgrossed The Lion King's original run(not counting reissues of the films) from 1994, becoming Disney's highest grossing non-reissued animated film in history.
The Lion King grossed around $312 million back in 1994. In 2014, SO FAR, Frozen's grossed about $318 million. Thats just domestically, remember.
Globablly, Frozen's above $712 million. If it can outgross The Da Vinci Code's $758 million, it will become one of the top 50 highest grossing films in cinema history, not accounting for inflation. Note that The Lion King is still Disney's highest grossing animated movie accounting for reissues globally, at $987 million. Frozen's got ways to go to get there, but it has all the time in the World.
Frozen's top.

Waifus. Tangled was popular because it had a Waifu-protagonist. Frozen upped the ante by doubling the amount of Waifu-protagonists, thereby doubling its popularity.Miscellaneous Mind wrote...
Can someone one explain to me just why in the hell this is so damn popular?
The next movie is going to star a quartet of Waifu-protagonists, and it might possibly bring about the end of the world.

Is Demi Lovato going to sing Let It Go at the Oscars?

No clue. It'd be MUCH better if Idina Menzel did it, since she's the voice of Elsa and sings the actual version in the movie.
Plus, long before March comes along Idina's version on youtube will have more views than Demi's. Matter of fact, it'll happen likely in the next few days.
Then again, Demi's the more recognized name/face amongst people watching. Eh.

Absolutely. Hans and Jaime Lannister have a lot in common. They're both extremely annoying for one.
