Not to mention it invalidates much of the film and ruin its tone. The fandom at large doesn't seem to be bothered about making sense, mind. *cough* Elsanna *cough*

At least the art's not too bad.

I did like the movie, especially the songs. ("Let it Go" is SUPER AWESOME AMAZING... it's up there with "When Will My Life Begin?" from Tangled for me.) But I did have some issues with it... blogged it out if anyone's interested http://verycuriousbl...and-hobbit.html

But I'm the odd one out on this film. Most people liked it, critics, regular folks, even fem. film critics such as myself.

I did like the sisterhood theme and felt that should have been the main theme. Anna having two LIs to choose from was a mistake imo. Just give her one guy so the main focus can be on the sisterhood conflict.

Also, as for winning awards... it was awfully choppy at the beginning, narratively speaking. It did pick up and earn a bit of momentum, but I don't think it's as tight as most Disney Princess movies. I'd put it on the same level as Brave (which I loved, but it has some narrative issues.)

Oh yeah, it's getting way more acclaim than Brave did. More than Tangled, I think.

I really think the amazing songs are boosting it up to the top. Plus parents in particular are happy about the sisterhood thing. (They don't read as much into the romance stuff as a snobby ole critic such as myself xD)
