It'd be easier if they hid behind the spaceship on Reactor with snap freeze, slash, or smash.

AIU + Snap Freeze + Geth Scanner + PPR with HVB and Drill Rounds. Didn't I post a video of that once? :?

lol, nice vid and cool idea. I´ve done the cloaked DC version before with a buddy of mine on Silver and it was a bit tedious, but this looks like fun. Thanks, I´ll give it a try sometime :-)

Will he show me how to put the Crutcholyte on every class? :P

Alot of the time it is impossible to kill targets in platinum solos without an acolyte unless you use super op classes and weapons. You normally can't afford to use rockets and you have to kill a banshee/praetorian/atlas/prime with 50% damage reduction in 1 minute with every enemy trying to kill you.

The acolyte in a full team is a crutch but in a solo it's more of a response to targets being unfair.

Sure because things like Disruptor ammo and Phasic ammo used with AP mods are not viable options... and classes with Overload, Energy Drain, Arc Nades, Sabotage, and to a lesser extent, Submission Net clearly do not exist.

Some classes that don't have an easy built in shield answer it makes sense, also on kits that can't CC as good without it (Singularity kits for example).. my feelings about this are on record multiple times though. Crutch on might Salmon :D

Well, Salmon could solo long before he got the Acolyte so I don't really see how it would make it a crutch for him -_-

I usually use it as my only weapon on the Human Sentinel (no backup weapon), can't really think of any other class that I use the Acolyte on. The reason as to why we had the Acolyte equipped in our AJ/Reave duo was so that we wouldn't trigger our weapons by accident, due to the chargeup mechanic it was perfect for this duo.

I'm just wondering now, why would you have a problem with him using the Acolyte in a solo video? inb46/6/6/6/6

Because I respect him and think he is better than that.. that he shouldn't lower himself to Acolyte crutching.

I too only use it on a handful of kits, and often it is the kits only weapon (Slayer, Novaguard, Vanilla Adept).

New players doesn't have level X weapons, Level IV consumables, and level V Rare Weapon mods. Also they could not have the Justicar unlocked. So the answer to question in thread title is NO.

I've done my gold solos under 100 games, using only level 2 consumables.
I used Vorcha Sentinel and Krogan Shaman, both with Acolyte II + Cryo Rounds. Power Amp II for Vorcha, and Cyclonic II for Shaman.
Flamer kits are easiest to solo with, but you still need to learn some basic rules of soloing.

Did 3 different solos right now and I am currently uploading them to Youtube.

Video 1: Asari Justicar using only reave, no weapons used, no rockets used, no bubble used, did use Geth Scanner and Power Amplifier IV, also had the Power Amp V on my weapon. Got 10 waves survived. Took 55 minutes.

Video 2: Asari Justicar using the Phalanx (which most players should have), did use rockets, used reave and bubble, used Power Amp V and Barrel on weapon, used Armor Piercing IV, Pistol Amp III, Power Amplifier IV, Geth Scanner. Took 35 minutes. Would have had 10 waves survived if I wouldn't have done something stupid.

Video 3: Same as video 2 but switched weapon to the Collector SMG, didn't have a good solo because I was expecting a faster time than 30 minutes. Would have been 10 waves survived if not for Mr. Phaeston on wave 10 pizza objective.

Conclusion:

Probably not the easiest kit to solo with for new players, but still a good approach to use if one experience problem trying things like Kroguard and GT/Flamer.

If that's the case then the same would apply to the Kroguard, Geth Trooper, Acolyte, Reegar etc.

Don't act stupid because that will not get you anywhere buddy, you know what I mean with the title ;)

Worked fine for a silver solo. I haven't run it on gold yet.

Seems that you have changed your mind re the option of running a bubble less build with full fitness as an option for players looking to solo gold ?

Your response to my build using power build with Reave and Pull with full fitness.

"That's a pretty stupid build if you ask me. I have plenty of good builds for the AJ, all of them have no fitness. Why would you even put fitness on a class like this?

Here is one of the most effective builds:

Why didn't you max out biotic bubble for full offense? New players may not have access to decent weapons at decent levels, and they probably don't have any level 4 equipment or a level 5 gear bonus, but they will have a level 20 character with enough points for a 6666 or 66653 build. On a map like White especially, the bubble is amazing, it would have absolutely wrecked the reapers.

Lone Wolf really should have made you solo a platinum.

There's always Geth trooper against reapers on Giant.

If this had been a post and video about using Reave then it would have been fine.

To show a video of a duo featuring a good player in Hardcore Salmon and using gimped builds is not  a helpful guide for   "an easy way for new players to get Lone Wolf"

As far as easy solos go, nothing can ever match reegar kroguard versus geth. It's practically impossible to die (on gold).

I usually go Bubble, Reave, Pull, Passives and no Fitness. This video was not meant for myself but for other players trying to get the Lone Wolf,  thus I chose a build more suited for less experienced players

That was not the point of the video. The point was to see how fast/easy it would be to complete a duo using Reave only, hence the bubble was not necessary for this video. Same reason as to why we didn't use our weapons in the match.

I have done other solo videos now that have the bubble, those are also suited for less experienced players.

It wasn't supposed to be a guide at all :?

I don't know if you guys just don't care about reading what is written or if you just have reading disorders or something. But seriously, too many people post things in this thread where it is so apparent that they have no idea what this thread or video was about before they posted. Please read before posting.

An "easy" way to get lone wolf would be to try to copy the way CrimsonN7 accidentally got hers.

I can't remember how, but apparently there is a method to do it intentionally...

A "new player" will not have an easy Gold solo.

My first Gold solo was with the N7 Fury on Reapers/Giant and that took an hour.

You are not understanding this correctly. There is a difference between an easy Gold solo and an easy way to get the Lone Wolf.

Basically this is an easy way since you just have to get the character in question, level up the character and then do the solo. It really doesn't require you to get a bunch of fancy weapons, gear, equipment etc. in order to do it, hence it is an easy way to get the solo done. The gameplay itself is also quite easy, spam Reave on everything in sight and then hide behind cover, can't get much easier than that?

But it is still not the same thing as having an easy Gold solo. The solo itself might be easier or harder depending on a lot of variables, but the way in which you will obtain it is easy.

Do you understand what I mean?

Doesn't Reave also have some form of shield bypass? for example it can go through a guardians shield? I don't think that would be possible with Dark Channel.

Yes, it has an AoE and hits everything within its radius up to a maximum of three targets.

My reading is fine . Its your poor expression that is the problem. You say its  not a guide - but rather the "video ..was  .meant for  other players trying to get the
Lone Wolf,  thus I chose a build more suited for less experienced
players "
So what exactly is the point of the video ?What can a inexperieced player possibly learn from the video other than that Reave is a good power . Duh .  How on earth is your build a good build for new players wanting to solo gold ?
