Elder Scrolls games have a habit of making me hate one particular animal because of saturation and irritation, in Skyrim it was bears, in Oblivion it was Pumas, and in Morrowind it was pterodactyls.

In retrospect, with the benefit of hindsight....... and after experiencing the reality of bears within Dragon Age Inquisition....
.... I have to say that this request, written in January 2014 was a mistake.
I don't want any more bears thank you.
I no longer like bears.

Actually I blame myself for the entire thing.
Never again let if be said that devs do not listen to players.
Dragon Age Inquisition development team clearly took my suggestion and ran with it.
Dev1: "Hmm bears? Did he ask for bears?
Dev2: "Yep, he sure did. I'll read you the post one more time. Here it is. bears, bears, and more bears"
Dev1: "Indeed"
Dev2: "Very well we shall give them bears. We shall give them all the bears they can stomach, and more beside!"
Dev1: "Shall I make the call? Notify the model making department?"
Dev2: "Yes make it so. We shall drown them in bears. Think of it as an object lesson. Think of it as something akin to forcing a child caught smoking to smoke an entire pack of cigarettes"
Dev1: Muhahahahaha!

ah, so it's your fault!
(I'll admit when I starter reading thing thread I didn't noticed the date and was utterly confused as to why one would want more bears)

Sadly yes. I confess. I'm the $!%"!*&£ responsible for the Thedas Bears of Ultimate Doom. Next time an entire sloth of bears chases you all the way across the map and then murders your entire party, think of me.

Okay, let's turn this into an actual discussion.
I don't get the bear hate.
My primary bear-related issue is that they're default hostile. I want to run with the bears and earn their respect, until they accept me into the club by showing me the secret pawshake - rather than kill them. To prevent further territorial scuffle and to enhance bear-humanoid intercommunication, I came up with this handy list of bear facts & tips to keep in mind:
HANDY LIST OF BEAR FACTS & HINTS TO KEEP IN MIND
- When approaching a bear, try not to kill it.
- Upon witnessing a bear chasing a deer, in 9 out of 10 cases, it is a safe assumption to understand the deer has commited a substantial crime and deserves nothing but death. Bears have a very well-developed sense of justice. Furthermore, death my even still be too good for it. Bears are also very compassionate.
- Bears are naturally well-behaved, physically affectionate, yet very vain souls.
Their craving for meeting new people to broaden their horizon, as well as their desire to show off their pawdicure and flawless teeth, is often misinterepreted as "attacks". Accordingly, uttering universal noises of admiration, acceptance of their inherit social & beauty urges and surviving an accidental mauling, is key upon first meeting your future best friend, and to maintain a healthy relationship.
- Should a bear approach you and try to kill you, it is considered rude to kill them back.
- There are brown bears, black bears and great bears. The bear however, does not see the color of one's fur (philantrophically confirmed, jury still out on biology). Confusingly, despite that being a very common trait of most bears, there is also great bears, which is a title awarded for moral excellence. "Every bear you harm is a great bear."
- DID YOU KNOW less bears have ever tried to overthrow the world and all its sentient inhabitants by using an ancient artifact to tear the sky apart and invite hellish creatures from parallel spirit worlds into our realm, than any other race or sociopolitcal group?
- DID YOU KNOW there is not a single reported case (!) of magic-able bears revolting against opressive totalitarian controlbears with heavy civillian colletaral damage and forcing a peace-loving lowerclass bear into a life of sacrifice and potentially life-threatening adventures?
- DID YOU KNOW since the dawn of bear, no loveable, slightly overweight teddymage has ever attempted to physically enter one "Golden City" - both of which being things not even known to any decent bear - thus unleashing a horde of Beareskan upon the unsuspecting public, creating the necessity to establish an order of suicidal furry guardians that is bound to tear families apart for generations?
I hope I was able to clear up the most common issues. Feel free to post any further or remaining question on this thread, or PM me if you (possibly rightfully) assume your ignorance could embarass you.
For a better together, starting today.

I... I thought I was creating new life. I thought that I could control it.
But now it's raging out of control.
I opened a box that should never have been opened. I my arrogance I tampered with primeval forces that no mortal should access to.
And now it's too late to put the lid back on the box. The bears are out now, and they are horribly real.

At least he's relatively house trained, that has to count for something.
In relation to the more common bears of Thedas, I suppose I have to award them some marks for their sheer tenacity. Those bears never give up, never tire of pursuit, steadfastly refuse to give up the chase under any circumstances, as I discovered when one chased my Inquisitor all the way to Redcliff after cutting through the other party members like a hot scalpel through butter. I can still hear Cassandra's plaintive wails in my dreams as she was contemptuously and dismissively discarded by the Ursine Terror like a broken rag doll.
I know, that it were possible to run all the way from the Hinterlands to the Anderfels that bear would have remained tirelessly at my heels every step of the way.
Nothing can stop the bears.

If we're going to anywhere tropical like Tevinter I want to see animals like tigers, elephants, and giant scorpion mounts.
Maybe some Sun bears and Spectacled bears then.
