Yes. from memory, most of that conversation was him moaning about his lack of impact in his life and inability to do anything about Uldred's coup.
My Warden nodded along and agreed with his spinelessness.
So, in the middle of a crisis, a guy dies and feels he didn't do enough. What a shocker.<_<
Clearly he should've remarked about the weather and do a dance as the warden left.

Niall - the guy didn't deserve what Uldred brought down on him in the name of mage freedom.
I still hold onto the hope that he transformed into a spirit, but thats probably wishful thinking.
I'd probly bring back Tamlen or Seneschal Varel
or Awakening Anders.

Andraste or Koslun, just to see what they think of their respective religions.

He was a great minor NPC and I was devastated when he died. I would really like to see him evolve more as a character.

I saw his death from a mile away, but that doesn't mean I wanted him to die. I wanted to learn so much more about his character. He seemed like a nice Templar.Tinxa wrote...

First Enchanter Orsino, the need for a boss fight killed him, he could have died with dignity or something.

to be a good guy and understand what it means to be a Grey Warden.
Daveth: The wardens do what they must right?
Jory: Including sacrificing us?
Daveth: I'd sacrifice a lot more if it meant ending the blight. You saw those darkspawn ser-knight. Would you die to protect your pretty wife from them? Daveth: Maybe you'll die. Maybe we'll all die, but if no one stops the darkspawn, we'll die for sure.

Without hesitation, I would choose Duncan, because I just adored
him. Plus I wanted to get to know him better. I'd also like to find out
what he'd think about how the Warden and Al dealt with the blight-not
to mention the present state that the world is in.

Avernus - that guy needs to live forever.
He might still be alive, I know if you spare him and aallow him to continue his research you will find a letter and potion or draught in DA2. Not if they stated otherwise or how long exactly he had left to live.
Anyway I guess Daveth, Mirhi, and Maric
