Chantry is a product of magic being abused and as spi spi said, he had a choice, Anders decided to be an idiot andt he fact that in the end his explosion did nothing but cause both factions hate him and didn't even start the war just shows that Anders was worthless and a failure.

Anders did in fact start the war but quite indirectly. Without him there would be no meeting to solve things and no war or rebellion afterwards.

Do not forget that Anders is indeed alive and well in some playthroughs. We have to see what happens to your theory "worthless and failure" in Inquisition.

And Ander's target was the chantry itself not the people in it. He couldn't send a letter asking everyone to leave because he was going to destroy it. Many sisters and mothers already left possiblity went to orlais after the recent incidentand warnings of the divine. It took me a long time to capture these images to be able to see precisely who is inside the chantry.

Meh. Debatable. Then again, I'm gay, so I got to go with Anders being more gorgeous than Meredith. :P

Wrong, the meeting in Asunder was made for two reasons. The rite of tranquility because a cure was found and because of Fiona kept on insisting, not because of Anders. Anders did nothing but ****** mages off. Anders died a failure.

To be fair, the ratio of mages escaping in the Gallows is probably higher than in Ferelden. And the mages were treated worse in Kirkwall than in Ferelden.

If Elthina didn't leave for Orlais, why in the world would anyone else leave? Regardless, whether or not his target was the chantry or the people in it, is irrelevant and I think it's a sh*tty justification. He blew up the Chantry and people died. End of story.

He is rather gorgeous, but that's all he's got.

I don't swing that way but Anders is an exception. He is rather attracticve looking.

I'm sadden to see that Bioware didn't made a quest where you can save Anders from being made tranquil.

They do torture us with such banter don't they?

He is not dead in canon. You killed him.

You realize people, mages included have different values and sure, having a "home" and being with other mages can be a positive aspect, but a lot of it is all for show, almost materialistic in a way. Most don't have a choice to go to there, which only causes more tension. I bet more than half would rather live on their own or explore the world without being bothered because of their "gift". Sure, it's a good thing to learn to control it and learn from masters of the art, but at the same time - what is stopping them from learning it from outside such places like that? It also doesn't help that their parents usually see them as abominations, which can lead to either negative or positive (depending on what age they go) development throughout learning with the circle.

Everyone's "canon" is different. In Asunder, it is not made clear whether or not he survived the events of Kirkwall.

Save import/Keep.  You can bet the most likely thing you'll get is a codex/ a 3 line cameo.

@Rassler

It's also worth mentioning the game engine can't support a ton of characters on screen at once.  It's why we got these beauties.

And let's not forget with the info of Anders VA not being in DA:I, His body is most likely controlled by Vengeance now

Did you check the picture I posted? Only 1 person is in the chantry that is not a templar.

I think that is a fair point, and I want to see what will happen with it.

Of course it was the people in it. His plan doesn't work if he doesn't kill anyone in the Chantry.

Since you have no better argument than game engine I will for now count on what the game shows me regarding who died at the chantry.

And I am more than happy with a cameo. To know he is alive and well and doing something good with his life. I already had him for a long time (2 games) I think my female character needs a new hobby. Anyway since nothing is certain yet I will hope for more of Anders but if it doesn't happen then I won't be disappointed really.

Edit: that engine thing never happened to me lol.

Agreed. My Inquisitor has no ties to Anders at all, and might even resent him for all the pain he has caused. I have a head canon running that my Inquisitor lost many of his friends in the wake of the Circle rising up.

Yes but that doesn't change the fact mages talk about "freedom" as if it is the solution to all of life's ills without realizing that Thedas is an harsh place and that they are, in fact, some of the lucky ones who can afford the luxury of wondering just how free they are; oblivious to how much worse it could be and is for many people.

I recall Anders doing what he did to "remove the chance of compromise". I thought the Chantry was the oppressors and not looking for compromise?

Not all mages tout what you dub as "freedom" to be their battle cry.

Ah the "I didn't see it so it didn't happen" excuse.  Very popular with mage and Ander fans it seems.
