The fact that Fiona, one of the most extreme Mages I've seen criticized Anders really says alot

So you mean Anders is less extreme than Fiona?

No. Anders is about as extreme as you can get.

Anders is a product of the Chantry. They created him.

The Chantry is a product of Tevinter. The mages started the cycle of violence.

The mages are the product of the Maker, so he started all the problems and his followers continue his tradition.

Ah the "I didn't see it so it didn't happen" excuse.  Very popular with mage and Ander fans it seems.

And no one acknowledges any death other than Elthina. probably meaning everyone else who died were expendable soldiers guarding her aka Templars. You think people would mention it if a genocide happens but no only Elthina.

Because people are never satisfied with what they have. Mages over glorify an harsh world most of them never experienced.
They can't even conceive the notion of not everyone being literate because that is the norm in the Circle.

To be fair, the ratio of mages escaping in the Gallows is probably higher than in Ferelden. And the mages were treated worse in Kirkwall than in Ferelden.

Yes but that doesn't change the fact mages talk about "freedom" as if it is the solution to all of life's ills without realizing that Thedas is an harsh place and that they are, in fact, some of the lucky ones who can afford the luxury of wondering just how free they are; oblivious to how much worse it could be and is for many people.

Not all mages tout what you dub as "freedom" to be their battle cry.

I agree.

We ARE saying that there were other people in there. Expendable or not, they had no reason to be killed to fuel Anders's crusade against the Circles.

Probably true but, as of now, all of the named characters important to this rebellion do. Anders, Fiona, Adrian, Rhys although he seems to be learning better.

I agree (Though not every mage or pro-mage holds this opinion). My point was just that in comparison with Ferelden Circle the mages in the Gallows are treated worse, and it might be the reason why more mages tried to escape.

There's a scene where Hawke can say "says the man who murders helpless priests" to Anders if he or she lets him and sides with the Templars.

The game allows you to support Anders and it even lets you be more extreme than him and I did choose to support him. I don't have to compare it to real life morals, its a bloody game. They were templars and they died, just like the hundreds of Templars my Hawke killed. Anders just did it loudly and in a fabulous fashion. Get over it already people.

Well, you see, that doesn't matter.  Because we the player weren't shown it, Hawke is just assuming.

Wrong, the meeting in Asunder was made for two reasons. The rite of tranquility because a cure was found and because of Fiona kept on insisting, not because of Anders. Anders did nothing but ****** mages off. Anders died a failure.

And let's not forget with the info of Anders VA not being in DA:I, His body is most likely controlled by Vengeance now

I think that is a fair point, and I want to see what will happen with it.

Anders succeeded in sparking off a war that achieved his goal by starting.  I think that pretty much sums up where the Anders guy was going.  If he's still alive at the end of DA2 he'll probably show up as a codex entry.  I really liked Anders in both DAA and DA2 but by the end of DA2 I wasn't sure I wanted to know where he was going.

Justice/Vengeance could still be around.  I wonder what's happened to a corrupted virtue?  I think zombie Anders has been ruled out, thank the Maker.

I feel that Rhys can still talked out of it since he was basically manipulated into it

And he can prove to be a useful ally

You're a fool if you think that explosion DIDN'T launch debris that killed and harmed bystanders.

There was a priest inside and if you count Elthina that makes it priests.

I don't see why we can't just have the Mages and Templars fight it out annually in a single combat tournament to determine who controls the circles that year.

I don't think Anders is an idiot, Anders knew what he was doing and what the outcome would be.

You could say that Anders is a lot of things but idiot is not one.

I don't know if it was the celeverness of devs or a mere accident. The so called explosion is very unique. Frist the chantry turns into small pieces then it goes up towards the sky then these pieces scatter, much higher than the ground.
