What makes people think the Templars have any issue with the Warden mages? They havn't had any for the past 900 years, why start now?

The overzealous don't care who they step on in order to do what they think is right. If Ser Rylock and the templar who tried to kill Anders is any indication then there could be a group of templars who feel that the Warden mages have too much freedom for their liking.

Ahem...Rylock.

A Templar != The Templars.

Or should we go back to the 'one instance by one individual represents the entire faction' garbage, in which case all mages are blood mage abominations who exist only to kill innocents and care nothing for the consequences.

Rylock was a rogue Templar, nor is she representative of the entire order, or the story between the two orders. There have not been a major incident between the two orders for over 900 years, what makes you think it will start now?

Well, then pointing out Rylock's infatuation with putting Anders in solitary for the ninth time (or in the ground for the first time) doesn't do much to discredit the point Emperor was making.  The Templars as an organization have nothing to gain, from any perspective, from going after the Grey Wardens.  As an organization, they have allowed the Wardens to police their own for 900 years, and there's no reason to think there will be a reversal of that policy now.

All that needs to 1 such individual end in charge well most templars already are fanatics (and god please spare me that they aren't:lol:).

I was speaking in jest. Rylock had a couple screws loose, and doesn't represent the Order as a whole.

I'm referring specifically to the guys who are on this forum advocating the slaughter of all mages. Though as everyone else has correctly noted, Rylock.

Rylock was a special case though. I don't think she represents the Order as a whole.

Does anyone actually take those "Kill them all" posters serious? They are obviously either just trying to be fun/cool/provocative or are literally too stupid to plan more than one step ahead. Either example does not warrant even being acknowledged.

I don't think she even objected to the Warden mages as a whole, really. It was just that she thought she could veto that one mage. Though on the other hand, if we take Anders' short story as canon, at least a small number of templars outside of her small command agreed with her.

Keep everything as it is, and tell any mage that is upset with their position the tale of Redcliffe.

Yeah because Logain had nothing to do with that or the Chantry? It was all the fault of one scared child. No one else had a hand in that.

Why did you have to spoil the fun?

The kid is at fault, he is the reason the Redcliffe Zombie Invasion happened not the Chantry nor Loghain.

And if he wasn't sick as a result of foul play? If he was just deathly ill? The child would've done the same thing, and the village would've still been ravaged.

There's plenty of blame to go around. How much goes to Connor depends on whether Jowan's interpretation of events (accidental summoning) is correct or not. Either way, Isolde was the grown-up here. She was supposed to know better. And while I'm inclined to be lenient with Loghain on a lot of matters, I'm not denying he provided this powder keg the spark it wanted, and should have known there was some danger of an explosion.

Jowan, of course, is the one who had a whole lot reason to know better than to mess with an untrained mage like this.

I agree. But if she ends up sacrificing herself for Jowan's ritual, IMO, I believe she did her best to fix her mistake.

I disagree. Isolde was the one who tried to hide his magic, starting this whole mess. And I don't blame the kid for wanting his dad back.

And Isolde hid his magic so that her son wouldn't be kidnapped by the chantry. Everyone's to blame!

And Connor wouldn't have been so desperate if his father hadn't been poisoned by Jowan, who in turn was hired by Loghain.

You can blame him for slaughtering his people, mutilating his servants and making the village into undead monsters though. :wizard:
