So, people who have sex with a condom or under birth control are purposely trying to conceive?

Theirs no such thing as condoms or birth control in Thedas so I don't know where you get this idea from.... unless if I'm missing something. Do Templars provide condoms or something in an equivalent to a condom to the mages?

You're right, it's gross fraternization
and wouldn't have happened if the morons kept their robes down or were
kept in segregated circles.

Are you kidding me? So anyone who has needs in your opinion is a moron? Mages are HUMANS and ELVES
who also have needsad desires to love and want to start a family. How are they morons for wanting to satisfy their needs as a stress reliever? or want to start a family of their own?

General TSAR wrote...
Maybe the two mages should have thought of that before getting it on.

Also
it's not kidnapping, the Chantry is well within its power to take any
and all children born to mage parents within their Circles.

Yeah shame on those mornic mages for wanting to express their love for each other... for having the same drives like any other mundane in Thedas. Shame on them, really.

You see this is a problem. The Chantry (prior to Asunder) has far too much power over people than they should
have. This kind of practice is outragous and repulsive.

Bethany actually said that she enjoyed some parts of the Circle life, She also said that the Templars were mostly polite to her and didn't want to do things like the Harrowing. Let's all stop whitewashing the details.

So she did? I remember seeing it on a video, but I can't quite find it.

It's in the letter she wrote to Hawke.

Dear Hawke,

I hope this letter finds you well. My time in the Circle has been bearable, even after the templars made a point of putting me through the Harrowing as soon as I arrived. They thought I was at risk of possession or running away like Father. Glad it's over with.

I've started mentoring apprentices. I enjoy time with the children, teaching them basic spells. One of them, Ella, has taken a shine to me. Adorable!

Life's not perfect here, mind you. The templars are mostly polite, and I know they're just doing their jobs, but some hold extreme views. There's one creep named Ser Alrik who likes harassing mages, but I'll steer clear of him!

I'm doing fine! Please don't worry about me.

With love,
Bethany

I'm pretty sure Wynne mentions contraceptives of some sort.  I'm fairly certain Thedas DOES have them to some extent.  As for whether they pass them out, I don't know.  Considering the stance of relationships though, I would assume no.  Or perhaps they do, but only to the senior/higher ranked mages?

*edit* " I honestly don't know, Alistair. He was... taken from me. Such births are seldom, as there are ways to prevent it, but it does happen. "  They do have some form of birthcontrol.

No Bethany didn't like the circle. You acknowledge the templars actions have created some situations in the game. Where? Where do you even hint at this? You don't. And yeah there are some, SOME, good templars but not many. The circle is necessary but needs to be replaced by something that isn't a hell hole.

Wynne was not an active thinker. She was completely brainwashed by the chantry. Read Asunder prefect example. She tells the mages to just shut up and take it.

I'm getting the feeling that you're one of those "Any person/character who disagrees with my viewpoints is X" people.

Only Siths deal in absolutes.

No I'm not one of the those "Any person/character who disagrees with my veiwpoints is X" people. Though I could say the same thing about you.

So does the Chantry. Deals in absolutes I mean. Mages are evil and can never do any good unless they are properly leashed by them.

To be fair, a mage doing something good on his own seems to be an exception rather than the rule.

Those blinders you wear are just adorable.  Do you have them custom made to filter out anything that doesn't agree with your completely absurd and utterly wrong view of Thedas, or did you add that after you got them?

Fun fact: The earliest use of condoms in our world dates back at least 3000 years. The ancient Egyptians used goat bladders as a sheath for the penis, making it the earliest recorded use of condoms. ::flies away::

Pssh, obviously the templars intercepted the letter and rewrote it to be more favourably.  Or they threatened to slit her throat while she wrote if any of it painted them in a bad light.  Yes!! That must be it!

Most likely since most mages aren't allowed to keep in contact with their families unless they are rich like Finn's family. Look at Alain they burned all his letters.

Most likely not. But I also refused to blame everything solely on the mages in either game.

Of course not.  Everything is the chantry's fault.  If they didn't exist, none of this would happen.  Mages are born with hearts of gold and are infallibly good.

I felt sorry for mages in DA:O, but not because of the Circle system, but because what it meant to be a mage and the dangers attached. That didn't change in DA2.

I don't blame everything on them. I DO, however, hold every individual accountable for his or her actions. The Templars didn't blow up the Chantry. The Templars didn't slice the Mage's hands and make them use self-destructive magic. The Templars don't communicate with demons when they feel helpless.

Pretty much this.  Must be terrible to try to sleep and listen to the whispers of Demons.

Finally someone sees! No jackass. Most o it is the Chantry's fault if they didn't do what they have done for the last thousand years then there wouldn't be near as many problems as there are now. Everything isn't the Chantry's fault but the majority of it is.

But they did push the mages into corners with threats of death, tranquility and assult. Leaving them only one option to defeand themselves from the tempalrs. Most mages don't want to deal with demons but hey if they are the only ones who is going to listen to you after you are left bleeding on the ground by the people who are supposed to protect you, what are you going to do. Go the the priest who will tell you that what happened is your fault and should pray to the maker to forgive you for making the good templar sin or are you going to listen to the voice who tells you it's not your fault and they can help you. This voice most likely the only thing that has ever really given you any kind of comfort.

No your right it is all the mages fault not the templars or the preists or anything else! How could I be  so blind! It is all the mages they are evil and sin just like the Chantry says!! How oh how could I be blind!! It is all their fault!!

*facepalm*  This is why no one gives a damn what you say.  You are unable to deal in ANYTHING other than absolutes.
