As far as the mages causing the first Blights, well that's according to the Chantry. I'm not going to say that the Chantry is lying, but I am hoping to see more perspectives in the upcoming game.

Plus, if we want to get technical, Dumat called out to his followers to go to the Golden City, and the first Blight started from there. So we can say that the Old Gods started it and the mages were idiotic followers.

For me, it was - a bit more than that - but ultimately, I'm pro long term workable solution, and I think it needs to
start with a reformed Circle.

The Circles are needed, but they (and really, society as a whole) need to be reformed so that the mages can grow up with a stronger emotional foundation that will help them to resist demons or any other urge for power and control over others.  There would be far fewer apostates to chase down if the Circle is reformed to be more attractive to mages and their families.

I agree, but I still feel that should still stay in Circle for the long term. It'll be less strict but they'll still need a Templar escort

That is also how I see it.  I would like for harrowed mages to be able to leave the Circle time to time as Wynne, Ines, etc. did - but am not pro-mage-freedom at this point.

I'd really like to see the results of magic being viewed as a gift and useful tool by most of society.  Parents feeling proud, or at least neutral upon learning one of their children is a mage.  See if a stronger emotional foundation and greater self-esteem among the mage population does actually result in fewer cases of maleficar, apostates, and possession.  If that proves out, then it may be reasonable to consider greater freedoms for mages.

Agreed. If the Maker does exist, I don't think he's who or what kicked the magisters back into the material plane as darkspawn. I would like to give "Him" the benefit of the doubt. And I'm not even sure if Dumat is really the one who sent the magisters a knocking on the Maker's home turf.

Read the Codex entry for the Werewolves, they were first created because spirits of the Fade had possessed animals and transformed them.In fact they have existed before Fereldan so no Zatharian did'nt create them.

And what you are doing is blaming the actions of a few mages on the entire group when the Kirkwall Circle was a ticking timebomb that was destined to go off because of where it was located, and the events of the Fereldan Circle was caused by one group of mages.

It's not fair to tar the entire mage population with the same brush nor is fair to do the same for the templars.

Wither**** was created/summoned by zathrian and werevolfes weren't possessed they were product of the curse so either there is another type of werewolves or they were victims of curse as well and it is just bed time story hard to tell.Besides even then spirits/demon can cross veil only when it is weak or summoned by mage in first case torn veil is almost always caused by magic (mage) and to a lesser extent by slaughter so ultimately by mage.

You tell me as kirkwall was only place destroyed by mages neither da 2 only showed that pretty much dao ,daa ,dawn of the seeker or redemption. Can i blame mage that he is abomination when he is , can i blame mages for destruction yes i can because they caused so many of it that it is resonable there is a reason why they sit in prison...

Why i can't say that templars are fanatics when most of them are i hope that i don't have point army of them... can i say that mages spread mayhem and suffering yes i can because they do and i hope that i don't have point army of them as well.

I don't point minority only majority of mages now ask your self how many "good" , helping and don't causing damage mages you have seen and how many destructive and sinister types...

The way I see it, if the Maker really hated magic, why even give it to mortals in the first place?

Doesn't the chantry basically say the Maker turned his back on them?  It's possible that it was a gift but when man started abusing their gift, it made him leave.  Dunno, just spitballing.

I haven't seen any pro-templars condem Karras or Alrik for the **** they did. In fact I remember reading some who agreed with Alirk. Beside if pro-mages support bloodmages then pro-templars support rapist.

You don't have to publicly condemn something to disapprove of it.   It probably didn't occur to you that said posters are trolls/sarcastic jokes.  But, I wouldn't expect you to understand.

Oh you BSN younglings and your bickering.

Just you wait.. This EXACT same discussion will continue for years, if you both remain active memebrs of the forum. Trust me. You can ask any of the other old timers here, and see how many of these topics are just repetition.

The best you can do is just ignore those who are beyond the reach of reason. That's how I remained semi-sane through the years.

And what else could we do to occupy our time, silly?

I don't think he hated it at all. I think he hates people misusing it however. Almost like the Parable of the Talents.

Cake is definitely good. My parents are both chefs, and my mom makes raspberry cheesecake, but my dad makes lemon meringue pie all the time, so both cake and pie are awesome!

I prefer the Dalish mindset to the Andrastian one - the scions of the Dales view magic as a gift from the Creators. I wonder if a Dalish Inquisitor is going to have these kind of discussions with the Andrastian companions, in the same way Merrill and Anders discussed their religious differences. I'd assume a possible templar companion could voice his opinion about magic to a Tal-Vashoth apostate, former Circle mage, or Dalish maleficar protagonist.

Hopefully we can get a Dalish companion of some sort, cause I am not digging this Sera girl that keeps getting discussed. But yeah, I do enjoy the different religious perspectives...all except for Sebastian. Damn he was hot, but I couldn't listen to him for more than 5 minutes without wanting to kill him.

I don't think people like Sebastian's genuinely goodhearted nature. It makes them feel inadequate.

I wonder how many got pissed off that they couldn't have sex with him AND that he wasn't bi. In all honesty, I only kept him for that staff we could get from Allure in his Act 2 quest and because I got to see Leliana in Act 3 with him.

Oh, I understand if you find him annoying/boring. I misunderstood your point, since I thought that you hated him. The kill part in your post probably confused me.

From what I read in other threads, I'd say some people hated him because he's a member of the Chantry. Si remember reading posts of his negative aspects that are completely false.

-Supports the Chantry

-Unscrewable

Those two qualities are enough for much of the BSN.
