Really, that is the entire point of creating a Universe like the one in ME. There are countless possibilities, however it wont include shepard, wont include reapers, and may not even include space travel. Any and all spin offs have to be different enough from the ME series that they dont just rehash everything thats already been done.

I like the idea of making a new trilogy that takes place decades in the future with a new main character. Seeing how things have changed or even how Shepard adventures effect the future.

But I think everyone expected this to be true. 

They would be idiots throwing the franchise and universe away like that.
I would love a RTS game - if it's not as dumbed down like Halo Wars and not actually a RTT (Dawn of War 2) game - or a version that has co-op and multiplayer while keeping the current RPG aspects.

Or even dare I say it a MMO, but only in the long future after TOR got old and they won't waste resources for the franchise. Like I explained in the MMO thread.

This, but without the "where in the world is carmen sandiego" part. Using Spectres as a new narrative would be awesome, why not use the League of One and some of the 1st spectres sent after them as a prequel to ME?

I think if Mass Effect continues past Mass Effect 3, then that is fine.



However, I think Mass Effect 3 should be the last game to feature Commander Shepard, at least as the main protagonist.



3 games is enough to tell the tale of one person I'd say.
