It takes place at the end of the war of Shanxi. Also, I just realized, this comic gives presedence to Reaper transforming organics into tech-organo hybrids in a flash of light!klarabella wrote...
Wasn't Evolution written after ME2 was published?Obadiah wrote...
The short version of Evolution is that TIM and Saren both got hit by a secondary discharge from a Reaper artifact, and gained their blue glowy implants, the ability to speak strange languages, and can hear the Reapers... a little. I think it is supposed to signify some kind of indoctrination.

I think the whole idea of wasting all those resources on one dead guy is a lot more depressing than using them on say, food for the poor, or infrastructure maintenance, or research and development into more collective means of technological gains, or invest in capital that is expanding and building business to provide people with jobs or income, or use towards the common welfare or charity.

Shepard can be heroic. Or ruthless. Or balanced. I don't think Shepard is uniquely heroic or deadly to warrant project Lazarus, especially considering the Collectors are as threatening as a particularly slow worm. I've never found Shepard to be a particularly good hero. They're a solider; brave more than heroic in the traditional sense.Steelcan wrote...

Shepard's real, universal talent was being a good killer. Any decisions they made were simply the result of having a choice thrust upon them. I can't actually think of any really important situations that were solved by Shepard's unique charm or wit.
HIS HEROISM

Knowledge liberates us; it doesn't destroy us.
It depends on what you do with that knowledge. No?
Yes, and the Synthesis epilogue outright states that it is used "to recover the greatness that was lost... and surpass it."
I just wish it was more clear on how Synthesis made this progress physically possible.
It just kind of leads us thinking that it's a change in attitude.
If Synthesis was better executed, I might be more positive about instead of the instant biological change of machine, organic and plants done almost by magic.

A beam of energy only targeting synthetics: yeah, that makes sense.
Or a beam of energy that takes control of just the Reapers: makes total sense.
That stuff ain't magic, but Synthesis is?
