Is it possible to rotate this effect somehow? All the ways I try result in the sprays sorta changing place but they still... uh, spray in the same direction. Am I missing something here?

Thanks!

In my experience vfx can't rotate. I don't know if there is something different with this one, for I haven't used it myself... yet :).

Oh wow, that could very well be. If that's the case then I guess my ship will have to be south-bound instead of north-bound... Ah well. :)

I believe you can change the north direction for an area from the toolkit.

You can change the north direction as Bob suggested, or you can copy the effect and change the direction of the effect on the copy.

Certain kinds of placed effects can be rotated. Can't remember which ones they are offhand.

I didn't know that. A coppied blueprint can have other direction? Cause I was really bothered by the spilled blood ones, having to place my corpses always according to them.

Some vfx can be rotated by manually setting the angle and will not show the angle they are set to in the toolset but will ingame. The Toucan vfx is one of these.

Model VFX (like the SoZ birds) will certainly rotate. Billboards like the bloodstain FX won't. Neither will projected textures, which I use to replace the flat bloodstain billboards on uneven terrain or against walls.

I don't think particle effects will rotate via a placeable effect though, which is probably what the ship wake effect is. Not unless they've been assigned to a particular body part and attached to a creature, like the various cone effects (burning hands, cone of cold, RDD fire breath, etc).

There are placeable versions of the bloodstain FX which can be rotated. They have the advantage of showing up on the map and minimap as well.

I know. This confusion with the corpses was some year ago, before I discover the placeables :).

I could have sworn I made some FX using billboards that could rotate. I'll have to check later.

Thanks for the answers guys. Didn't know I could switch the north direction for the map, that will do it for me. :)
