ME3 MP was my first multiplayer experience ever, how about you?

The Mass Effect series got me hooked on FPS games. I only played RPG like Dungeons & Dragons and strategy games like Total War before I started playing Mass Effect.
I was a little hesitent to play the multiplayer part of this game though, but I felt like I needed to increase my "War assets" in the game and then I got hooked on the multiplayer part as well.
These days I buy more FPS games than RPG and I usually don't play the single player really but I mainly buy them for multiplayer or for co-op single player.
So, was this your first try at a multiplayer game as well? If so, how did you react to it? If not, how would you compare this game to other multiplayer experiences that you had before playing this game?

After playing the singleplayer campaign for 5 times I wanted to explore my last unknown ME chapter, the multiplayer.
So I bought 3 months gold membership for xbox live and I really liked it. So after more than half a year, I am still playing ME3MP.

Or maybe it was Mechwarrior 2? Both around the same time in the early 90's

I played all the Crysis and Modern Warfare stuff, and some others I don't remember, but when I tried MW MP I really sucked and was probably already a little old to compete with those kids. It made me incredibly angry to die over and over again, so I rage quit and did not stick around long enough to develop.
I found ME2 a few months before ME3 came out loved it. The ME MP is the best for me, I started in Bronze and just a short few hundred hours later held my own in Plat.

I think my first MP was Contra on the NES, but I could be mistaken it has been so long. First online MP was SOCOM on the PS2.

I guess I should've said online MP... Because you're right, NES had a bunch of 2 player games... Hell.. my cousins and I played Atari 2600, 5200, and Intellivision before the NES was ever released if we're going back that far. Tank Commander, some baseball game, Gyrus...
It wasn't a MP game but do you remember the game Tempest? Would've loved to play that on Acid..

Same here. Alright, my very first Multiplayer was midi-maze on the ST, but i guess that doesn't count.
And yes, ME3MP is my first online multiplayer game.

My 3rd, first being a low-key FPS called Singularity, and then I played CoD for a few years. I was lucky that one of my CoD friends wanted me to play ME3 with him on his birthday, and I've been hooked ever since.
Didn't you hear? All CoD players are the scum of the Earth according to BSN. Everyone here hates you now...

Well, I can't edit my post for some reason, so...
ME3 MP was my first taste of Online MP.
... And I guess, my first MP game was GoldenEye and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil on the N64... Man , that was along time ago.

First online gaming experience probably was... Phantasy Star Online Ep. I & II, for my Gamecube. Went out, bought a modem adapter, a signed on for a handful of quests. Didn't know how to chat, didn't what where to go or how to party up. Think I only went online like three times at that age.
Next was Everquest, when Kunark was a new expansion. Again, had no idea how to chat, spent 2 hours planning a character I never knew how to play, and then died to a starter-zone snake because I was in up-its-nose-melee-range and slashing my weapon but doing no damage. Never touched it again.
Vagabond's Quest+ browser game, yahoo roleplaying chat, and Starcraft before it released Brood War was probably my first prolonged multiplayer experiences for online.
Despite my tendency to hop between games and MMOs a lot (everyone copying WoW even though it's so bad right now), I still come back to this MP a fair amount. Wish there were more like it, and wish it was still supported.
