Well then that doesn't make sense. It's supposed to be deep underground and destroyed and dark, possibly buried as deep as the Deep Roads. That artwork is neither underground nor destroyed nor dark.

I posted this in the Mage/Templar solution thread. It's basically my solution to every problem in Thedas.

Orlesians? Abominations? Qunari? Darkspawn?

There's a simple and easy solution to all these

Genocide of the Elves. That is my solution.

Whatever is wrong with Thedas, you can be sure it was the Elves fault.

Before every battle, we test all our weapons on Elves. If a choice between attacking the Darkspawn horde and the Elves come up, always kill the Elves first. That way, if you don't have any Grey Wardens, at least you can still win the battle. Plus, killing the Elves gives you time for the Grey Wardens to arrive.

And how do you stop the Mage/Templar problem? Kill the Elves.

Hmm... that rethoric sounds somewhat familiar to me.  I wonder where from?
It can't be from Joseph Goebbels talking about Jews, can it?

It's certainly very interesting but Arlathan presumably would have been located somewhere in the Arlathan forest no? That is pretty far north. Will we be going that far in that direction or to that area of Thedas???

I never believed that Arlathan was in the Arlathan forest personally. My reason is that the elves moved south when humans arrived (the war with the Imperium started like 2000 years later) and Arlathan was at the center of their "empire" so it couldn't be on the north coast.

Do we get to burn it? That would really ****** off the Dalish.
Or, you know, offer it as a reward for elven help in defending human lands we can always take it afterwards. That works too.
Although I'm still partial to flattening it.

Hope we get to burn it, then in response the Dalish declare war on the Inquisition and get obliterated. =P I want to be that Inquisitor that leads the world to its bitter end lol

As far as we know - and according to Tevinter, the enemy.

Bioware forumites are really not lore critical at all are they? ^_^

I believe it's also the story according to the elves themselves.

Twitter tagline reads: “Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls. From these emerald waters doth life begin anew.”

That's what Andraste said about the Fade. To be honest, I've begun to suspect we're reading too much into the taglines. I remember there was one similar tagline about the Golden City in a picture that appeared to be ruins in of the Imperial Highway in Tevinter or something.

You mean elves like Arianne from Which Hunt who had no clue what an Eluvian was?

I suppose nows not the best time to mention how I want to throw screaming elven children into flaming pits with blight wolves to rip them to pieces, with a vertically bisected head of an elf as my shoulder pouldrens, and allowing my men to have their way with the knife eared harlots and proceeding to use them as arrow practice, all while choreographing their delightful screams of terror, agony and misery into a perfect adaptation of the nutcracker score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

I thought the story was common knowledge. Tevinter used blood magic to sink Arlathan Atlantis-style.

I bet bioware has someone hired as "official teaser" whose job is to quote random parts of Dragon Age lore to random pictures just to make us go insane.

That doesn't mean they have no stories from the days of Arlathan. They do. It's even a Dalish Codex entry that mentions the story about the magisters sinking the city.

My point is that stories are just stories. As far as I am concerned the truth is not known and might never be,

I won't let lore's own speculation limit my ability to speculate.

It could be a satellite of Arlathan. Wasn't their empire pretty extensive? It may not be the main ..city of Arlathan, but it could still be a part of Arlathan.
