I'm thinking of making a new world where magical cards are scattered all about, each having its own ability ect. Before I do so, I thought I would get some info beforehand so I would know what I'm getting into.

I would like to make my own textures for Misc Thin that would be used when making a custom Misc Thin item. Is their a reasonable limit to the number of custom textures I can make? And where could I go to learn how to makemy own Misc Thin texture?

Thank you kindly!

edit* I'm using Photoshop CS3 for texture making if that's ok.

Looks like creating them is easy enough. Curious about how many I can do though. If a limit exists.

How To: Make Inventory Icons

As far as a limit, there is generally a limit of 256 icons (numbered 0-255) for each "miscellaneous" item type.  You'll have to check your copy of baseitems.2da to see if the "maxrange" has been moved to 255.  If not, change it and put the changed 2da file in your hak with your new icons.

From my perspective ps cs3 is a little on the overkill side. If you are comfortable using it all well and good. Personally I would use Greenfish Icon Editor Pro - it's free and probably does all you will need to create inventory icons. One thing I have found it particularly good for is killing those pixels that are supposed to be transparent and look transparent in other editors, when they are in fact slightly tinted. You come across them occasionally in icons you download from the vault, so I know that I am not the only one that has had problems with them. They show up as a pale dotty halo around the icon graphic in the toolset and/or game.
