One of the cooler things in Origins was finding a random crater with meteorite ore and the funny reference to Superman.  With Inquisition's focus on building up resources and support, is there a chance we might see more Meteor Metal Ore in game?  Do you think will see more of the mysterious meteor baby?

EDIT:  I know the baby was just an easter egg, but I included him in my post for the sake of the joke.

It was just an easter egg. Not everything is big and important.

You aren't suggesting that gags and jokes should become integral to the main plot, do you?

As for using meteor ore, I wouldn't mind finding that and having it turned into a space sword or something.

I know the baby was an easter egg.  I was making a joke, but I'm serious about the meteor metal ore.  That was probably one of the cooler "extras" thrown into the game.  It kind of gave the Warden his/her own unique weapon.  I'm just curious if anyone thinks there's a chance we might see more of it in Inquisition.

I would personally like to make meteor armor for my Inquisitor.

Well, maybe those green meteors in the trailer (the "fires above") are made of starmetal. That would be neat. We could use more Starfangs. Doubt the baby will be of any importance though.

(but Gaider could be giggling at our dismissiveness, too.)

No, of course not.  Including the Meteor Baby in the discussion was mostly intended as a joke.  And to be fair, Bioware is sometimes known for including recurring gags in their games like Mass Effect's Blasto the Hanar Spectre.  I'm not asking if anyone thinks he's going to save Thedas from the giant tear in the Veil.  I'm just asking if anyone thinks we might see him or some kind of reference to him, similar to how we saw more advertisements for Blasto in ME3 after his introduction in ME2.

Being able to use meteor metal would be awesome for crafting. That was one awesome sword.

I was actually under the impressions that those were demons falling into our world, but they could in fact be just plain, old meteors.  It would definitely be nice to hook our Inquisitor or our followers up with some Starfangs or Starmetal Armor (Starmor???).

I think it would be cool to see a boy (that baby is probably 12-14 in DA:I yes?) flying in the distance and the Inquisitor like "Note to self: Less booze"

I like to craft armor this time instead of a weapon if possible or at least the choice of having armor made

Naw. This time the inquisitor will stumble across some rich kid kneeling down crying next to his murdered parents.

The inquisitor will ask, " Where are the bandits son?"

The kid will say, "I don't know! It was too dark! It's night!"

To which the inquisitor will reply, "No son...I AM THE KNIGHT." Then disappear into the dark on a quest of vigilante justice.

It would be cool to be able to craft not only weapons using it but armours as well.

P.S. I meant the meteor not the baby if you were wondering...Posted Image

I'd love to see Starmetal return. Starfang is probably my favourite sword of the franchise so far, so I'd love to either see it return, or allow the Inquisitor a chance to forge a starmetal sword of his own.

I don't see why not, we've seen at least 2 meteor metal weapons in the series. Remember the meteor sword?

http://dragonage.wik...ki/Meteor_Sword

It's also a star metal sword according to the description at least in that its metal also came from a meteor, despite it being classed as a mere tier 6. Most likely it's much weaker because a crappier smith made it and maybe the actual quality of the star metal in the sword was of worse quality (it's not like every meteor all has the same metal in it, some are going to have crappier metal than others). So that is at least 2 swords, so Starfang wasn't some one-off thing. Still, star metal isn't THAT amazing. Even Starfang only amounted to white steel tier, a metal right from Thedas' own world.

http://dragonage.wik.../wiki/Materials

So meteor swords aren't exactly game breakers.

That's one of my most hated easter eggs in modern gaming.

Easter eggs should be subtle references that fit in with the worlds setting. That wasn't.

Forget sublte, you know what they should do? They should make the baby who was in the meteor to be a main character in the final DA game, all grown up and ready to kick ass. And like Superman, that character should be the most obviously overpowered main character in the series. It would be an interesting callback, turning an Easter Egg into a main plot point and origin for their strongest character.

Actually, I now wonder if Sandal was another meteor baby. Would certainly explain his weirdness and strength.

That was genius.  Slowly but surely, we would be building up to the Justice League of Theadas haha.

For me, it has less to do with the quality of the metal and more to do with that fact that I found metal from space and turned it into a weapon.  There's something about finding the materials and crafting your own armor and weapons.  In Origins, some of my favorite gear was my Dragonbone Plate Armor and my Starfang, because I made (technically speaking) something unique that really felt like mine in the game.

Still, starmetal has a cool factor because it's from space.  That concept alone makes anything made from it unique and special.  It might be comparable stat-wise to more available materials in game, but it'll never be the same.

If starmetal does make a return, I want to be able to do more with it.  Of course it shouldn't be super common, but maybe allow us to come across a crater or two while we're traveling across Thedas.  Allow us to make staves, axes, mauls, swords, shields, and armor.  Or, at the very least, more than just two swords.

Agreed Starfang was my no1 weapon threw most of the game.
