EDIT: I know the baby was just an easter egg, but I included him in my post for the sake of the joke.

I really, really, really, really, really doubt it.

It was just an easter egg. Not everything is big and important.

You aren't suggesting that gags and jokes should become integral to the main plot, do you?

Well, maybe those green meteors in the trailer (the "fires above") are made of starmetal. That would be neat. We could use more Starfangs. Doubt the baby will be of any importance though.
(but Gaider could be giggling at our dismissiveness, too.)

That's one of my most hated easter eggs in modern gaming.
Easter eggs should be subtle references that fit in with the worlds setting. That wasn't.

Naw. This time the inquisitor will stumble across some rich kid kneeling down crying next to his murdered parents.
The inquisitor will ask, " Where are the bandits son?"
The kid will say, "I don't know! It was too dark! It's night!"
To which the inquisitor will reply, "No son...I AM THE KNIGHT." Then disappear into the dark on a quest of vigilante justice.
For me, it has less to do with the quality of the metal and more to do with that fact that I found metal from space and turned it into a weapon. There's something about finding the materials and crafting your own armor and weapons. In Origins, some of my favorite gear was my Dragonbone Plate Armor and my Starfang, because I made (technically speaking) something unique that really felt like mine in the game.andy69156915 wrote...
I don't see why not, we've seen at least 2 meteor metal weapons in the series. Remember the meteor sword?
http://dragonage.wik...ki/Meteor_Sword
It's also a star metal sword according to the description at least in that its metal also came from a meteor, despite it being classed as a mere tier 6. Most likely it's much weaker because a crappier smith made it and maybe the actual quality of the star metal in the sword was of worse quality (it's not like every meteor all has the same metal in it, some are going to have crappier metal than others). So that is at least 2 swords, so Starfang wasn't some one-off thing. Still, star metal isn't THAT amazing. Even Starfang only amounted to white steel tier, a metal right from Thedas' own world.

So meteor swords aren't exactly game breakers.
