I think it would be a mistake to set in stone that Liara is dead, not because of her but because of the Shadow Broker. They can make the SB be a mystery again. New players will have the same experience we had in ME1, since the codex won't say that Liara is the SB (or is she?), since she kept it a secret. Who played the trilogy will keep wondering if Liara still the SB or if it's another person. She should just vanish, be a complete mystery, bring to us doubt about SB's identity and intentions in ME4.

News has been light, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Is BW going to be at PAX East in April? Wonder if we'll learn anything more there.

One thing I do hope is that they keep up the quality of the music, that is something that always stands out.
I agree, ME1's entire soundtrack still gives me chills to this day.

I wonder when some teaser is coming. From what I've heard, they are playing ME"4" and mocap has started a few weeks ago.
A little info would be nice. The story is long set by developers so.

I've heard some rumors that they are supposed to announce something in the next week or two (a couple of dev videos or something like that) but im not sure how valid these claims are. It's about time they come out with something - it's been close to two years since ME3 came out. They should be nearing the end of their development cycle and moving into testing and spit-and-polish. I wonder if they had to scrap their ideas a couple times in 2013.
Can anyone speak to the validity of these rumors?

The 2ish years for ME2 and ME3 were actually pretty short for RPGs.
From what I've gathered so far (and I could be totally off on at least some things):
2012 - Prototyping, planning, concept art
2013 - Early development, basic scripts, modelling
2014 - Later development, full script drafts, VAing, cinematics, deep in gameplay development, etc (aka they'll have something to show us this year most likely), alpha and beta builds
2015 - Last parts of development, VAing, last script/story/content changes, beta builds, bug squashing
If it takes til 2016 I'd be surprised.
So yeah, more like a 3-3.5 year gap, instead of 2-2.5.
I fully expect at LEAST teaser info by the end of E3, latest.

I suspect the suits at ea would at least order pre-planning of the franchise milking.

Would they have started planning me4 pre me3 release?
I suspect the suits at ea would at least order pre-planning of the franchise milking.
Many here would asset that 'no, they planned with ME3 to torch the franchise and run' and they could be right.
But I don't think so. I think at least since 2011 they had at least a general view of where they're going, and that ME3 is for the most part what they wanted for that, but not entirely. By Citadel DLC's release though, it's completely sorted out and moving forward.
But that's me.

Thanks for the insight - I always expected it would be about 6 months after whenever Dragon Age is released; that way they don't put all their eggs in one basket, so to speak. Sounds like a early/mid 2015 release is likely. Hope to hear some substantial news soon, at any rate.
