Hello, i've got a problem direct connecting to any NWN 2 server.
Ingame i can skip the authorization process and try to direct connect to Realms of Trinity by using their specified address: server.realmsoftrinity.com
The address resolves into the needed IP (DNS seems to work), but after a few seconds of waiting i get: "Server is not responding (timed out)" error message.
That is basically what happens with every other PW server out there.
I tried to ping the specific server (multiple active ones from nwnlist.com/) and even ran a tracert to see if there was a problem with my isp blocking me. Though the Realms of Trinity tracerout ended somewhere after the comcast server in pittburg in a time out (which most probably means some server in between blocked their ICMP error messages) nearly every other server could be pinged or a rout could be established.
I'm currently using the old paltinum edition of Neverwinter Nights 2, but already bought the GOG version (though i am a bit reluctant to download this monster again with my slow connection).
The funny thing is i could connnect without any problem to the server from a different location.
I'm quite at a loss here, since the connection itself does not seems to be blocked, just NWN seems to be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS.: i also tried the Client Extension, but the game always seems to crash when trying to connect to an internet game., i.e. click the button, mini window pops up, but remains empty and the whole game locks up.

Sounds like it might be your firewall. It will let through pings, but is blocking the game.

It can't really be the firewall. There is no mention of NWN anywhere in the logs and i made an exception for NWN.

OK then you'd better give a bit more information on your setup; in particular what version of Windows you are using, what you've done about DirectX, what version of CE, etc. Oh and what Anti-virus, etc.
I found I needed to install a version of DirectX from the Web and also install an older version of Net Framework for mine to work fully on Windows 8 x64.

Okay, i've got
Windows 7 x64
DirectX 11
the newest version of CE that i downloaded 4 days ago (and it is the newest version)
Avira AntiVir
Comodo Firewall
And as i already wrote in my OP, i already could play on the internet from a different location, then my current. So i don't see my firewall, antivir, versions of framework or directX version being responsible for it.
