The only other character that tires me out like this is the melee kroguard on platinum... I've found that can be almost as exhausting at times because of the high level of consentration required in order to play him as suicidally as I do for long stretches with your vision being impared, being constatly disorientated with charge/melee and being constantly near death in huge crowds of pryos, phantoms, bombers and banshes, etc... frantically keeping everything staggered in between charging - it's enough to get the blood going.

I'd definitely say a proper collector Adept caster is the most work for me. I love it but dear god is it a slog using seeker swarms to detonate dark sphere explosions, managing your cooldowns, keeping dark channel going, keeping track of what you've detonated, what's left and how long you've got before you can recast dark sphere without accidentally detonating it and causing an 8 second delay... whilst more importantly keeping track of how many seeker swarms you've got left at all times. Getting everything ready before you recast swarms, thinking up a quick strategy depending on what is primed and tapping away in frustration because of the delay. Remembering to find full cover when you recast them so you don't get dropped instantly. If you playing reapers, remembering to dodge constantly between all of this and getting stuck on furniture - e.g. reapers on glacier.
I dont know why so many think he is hard. I do quite well with him and i am certainly not the elite (havn't soloes platinum, only only 2 times). Only tricky part is his dodge, which you would be able to master once you get used to 'MAPS'.
Mind you maps not him so much. Managing his powers is simple. DS - in that animation DC immediately. Shoot. Detonate DS (the spawn is severely depleted by now. Run to next spawn. Repeat. I run him with no fitness so I
never throw my SS unless there are a few enemies left at the end of the wave.

You're not playing him like a caster then. IMO he's the ultimate Biotic Explosion Adept. I've tried weapons builds... I've used DS as a bomb but it's boring. Instead of using dark sphere as a bomb... Try focussing on using dark sphere as a 7-9 meter primer and using seeker swarms as you would use throw. It's tiring. I do too use dark channel straight after casting DS because of the free cooldown but only when it's not targeted at a boss. Usually I'm following where DC is going and waiting for it to skip before I detonate it with SS. I'm detonating biotic explosions practically every couple of seconds.. sometimes 4 at once... but it's very demanding. Obvously there are times when detonating DS is the thing to do, usually as a get out of free card or for additional boss damange, but using it as a bomb can take away a lot of the fun and stop you using any of your powers for long stretches of time.
Used in the right way Dark Sphere can be like an utra-rare version of Singularity; that's the way i've come to think of it.
As example when I see a brute. I launch DS then detonate it (SS), then prime with DC, then detonate then either detonate the DS or let it run out to avoid the cooldown and recast it for more biotic explosions.

That's a shame. I might try it with recharge speed instead but it's so long anway if you detonate I probably wouldn't notice the difference. I don't detonate that much any more but the extra duration is helpful.

I definitely do not play him as weapons class. He is my biotic monster. I dont even carry PPR on him. For me he is not about BE but Biotic kills. DS detonation does insane damage. So does his DC. I could even play him before I unlocked the PPR. :-)

Cookie cutter build
DS and detonate when mobs plus seeker to finish off, DC>seeker>shoot for elite mooks, DS>DC shoot>detonate>seeker for bosses
http://kalence.drupa...!34N55384!566ED
Sniper-caster hybrid
DC>shoot for mooks/elitemooks, DS>seeker if needed for mobs and similar to above build for bosses
You have to keep up your ascension on everytime

Agree about the GI... He's pretty easy to play with to. Cloak/Proxy/Shoot.. make frequent use of RHA. Not hard.
Since you can say that for pretty much every kit (but insert kit's respective powers instead of "Cloak/Proxy") and MP is so heavily gun-based, we just figured out no kit is hard to play?
Solved!
Well sure because Vanguards, melee kits, annihilation field kits, kits with long casting animations, etc. can totally hide behind a corner using RHA and not expose themselves like the GI... Or you know, have built in wall hack. Not everyone plays every kit as a weapons platform.. that is just boring IMO.

Fair enough. Playing him as throwing SS for BEs and accession mode is more challenging than DS detonate, occasional BEs with SS. But IMO the reward for this challenge is just not worth. Infact the more risky BEs with SS does far less damage than the DS detonation method. Even with DS detonation, you do have to manage to long DS cooldown. His BEs doesnt even kill a damn thing.

Even though the Dark Sphere/Dark Channel/Seeker Swarms biotic explosions are weak, you can get off a lot of them and they hit the other enemies near them. Imagine these scenarios:
See spawn, cast 9m Dark Sphere, Dark Channel, Detonate Sphere, spam Seekers at green/blue targets, as the number of enemies thins, find the blue guy (dark channeled), kill him if he has already been detonated, let Dark Channel jump, detonate the last couple enemies.
Dark Channel spawn, hit the blue guy with a swarm, shoot him to death, repeat all through the spawn.

Typically a boss is surrounded by mooks who are constantly exploding which seems to do the trick while it's taking massive damange from DC and DS DOT and being exploded itself, sometimes with the DS. Obviously they have to balance the fact that he can do up to four BEs at once against the others like the AA. It is very tiring playing like this and I have to be in the mood for where as I could just spam DS if I was feeling lazy but i'd probably play something even less taxing if that was the case.

OT: I would say the volus require that you know what you are doing. I'm not saying that they are hard once you know your stuff, but you do kinda need to have some Head Knowledge™ (at least that is what the pile of dead pug voliiwould lead you to believe). And the fury is pretty fast paced, not hard once you have her down, but you have to be on your toes.
I also think that the Shadow has a bit of a learning curve and I agree that she doesn't really leave any room for error, especially on plat.
