Nothing's hard. Skill is for nubs.
The irony of this statement coming from you, whether serious or not, is delicious.
On topic... it's a video game. Reaction time is the only "skill" used in any video game ever.

I dunno if anyone said it yet, but the Quarian Marksman IMO requires a lot of skill. Aiming isn't all of it; you don't have any projectile powers. Sabotage doesn't stagger everything and is minimally helpful on the wrong type of team or vs. anything but Geth. Tactical Scan can be a devastating power but again, it depends on the team you're on. Lastly, as great as Marksman is, it leaves the Quarian Marksman in a vulnerable position most of the time in order to get clear shots unless you wallhax EVERYTHING, which is impossible on some maps.
Every other kit has an "oh sh*t" button, the Quarksman does not.
This was my first thought on the subject. I just don't feel comfortable using the word "skill" and this game though.

Ah I see. Honestly still not seeing the problem that much I switch between them and just melt their damn heads off. Phantoms are the exception, rapid fire makes them flip and the PPR ramp is hard to achieve with bubbling them up. Phantoms are kind of a pain with any weapon though other than projectile or the Talon.
Arc Pistol due to it's stagger effect makes phantoms a joke. PPR actually is a good weapon to deal with on-host phantoms. At least my TSent never had a problems with girls (ofc he has overload and can haz warp ammo)
And once again, nothing is hard to use and shine with, but most things (sans reeger and lolcolyte) require some efforts to master.
It's easy to just yadada with carrier, but ability to burst-headshot mooks and manage an ammo requires some practice.
It's easy to use talon, but ability to rapidly switch between heads with quickscopes requires some practice.
It's easy to shoot PPR from RHA, but ability to stay locked on the target while moving, switching between targets ASAP (every second off-the target - mad deeps lost), avoiding to be flanked, constantly stay locked on banshee's/Prime's head, all require some practice. You can't dodge and continue DPSing, you can't quickly reload fresh clip with TCP (though it helps when overheat). Moreover, PPR doesn't have a stopping power at all (sans shieldgate break stagger) And PPR at least requires one to aim.
I don't say it's proo 1337 hard, not at all, but if it was loleasy platinum pugs would have been flooded with PPR TGI's, not with reetard-sexbots and lolcolyte-flamers.

The batarian soldier and sentinel are easy when you get the hang of them but batarian melee builds are tricky to get the hang of at first - especially the timing. Exploding Blades are essential but you don't know that staring out.
Some ways of playing characters are seemingly more difficult than others.

There are varying learning curves with each character. What can seem challenging becomes easy after practice. It's hard to say a more experienced player is more 'skilled' than an inexperienced one, he simply knows the pitfalls to avoid.

Rageous moment when you were close enough and locked on, but some 1337 sniper killed the target

First starting to learn how to use Batarians is one of my early memories of this game. I was useless with his melee at first. Now I can melee cerberus turrets like a mad man all day.

PPR requires some finess to use, actually.
Also lol @ people who say that cycling through 2-3 powers requires more "skill" than "pointing and shooting".
It takes WAY MORE SKILL to cycle through 2 or 3 powers and get the best out of them. Especially when a number of high profile enemies have bubbles of doom, swarms or abomination type annoyances.
Completely different type of skill. IMO top level aiming, rapid headshot quick scoping combined with perfect reload cancelling and constant intelligent dodging are the hardest skills in the game.

The longest game of my life was playing as this, yes it was awesome, but 2 people got 10 revive medals just from me! Although I did score 2nd and had never actually played a full Melee GI. So not really too bad, but you better have some understanding teamates.millahnna wrote...

Good call. Ton of fun but I die a ton when I do any of the melee Geth builds.

Strategically outplaying your opponent in any RTS game is reaction time? Or knowing when to gank and how to gank in games like LoL and DotA? I don't think so.
Reaction time is a big part of pretty much every competitive video games, but far from being the only skill. Otherwise you'd just sign up a team of X players with best reaction tiemz EVAH and voila, windfall!
