Ok so the title doesn't say much so I'll explain, also I put this on the ME3 discussion and haven't had much sucess so I thought I'd try here Posted Image

I decided that it would be really nice to create sort of a 'sleep track playlist' comprised of noise the drive core makes and also the noise the cars on the Citadel make. I really liked the sounds of the cars whizzing past the window in Shepards apartment and thought it would be really nice to listen to them at night or just generaly.

I tried searching for them on Youtube but found nothing and my recording devices consist of my phone, which needless to say is pretty terrible so I was wondering if anybody on here knew where I could find these ambient sounds or maybe record them (better than I can anyway) for me and anybody else who likes the idea of falling asleep to the sounds of the cars whizzing past.

Many thanks :D

I would have the means of recording them for you! Although if I'm honest I always found the noise of the drive core to be a bit silly; coupled with the substantially less-cool looking design of the core itself made me not like it as much as the amazing SR1 drive core.

I may throw in a couple of other added background sounds as well, like the CIC of the SR2 in the second game.

Are you on the PC? If so you could look for the sound files and perhaps copy them to an MP3 player.

That would be really great thank you, I could record them myself however my equipment consists of my phone which isn't very good :P

Also the PC files is a good idea but I'm afraid I only have 1,2 and 3 on the Xbox :P

There you go! I've included four ambiance tracks for you.
  • Normandy Drive Core: The main one you wanted, a recording of the Drive Core from the terminal situated right in front of it (where you have scenes with Tali in ME2 and 3)
  • Personal Apartment: A loop of the ambience in the Personal Apartment from the Citadel DLC. Because of Shepard's foley sound effects (ruffling of clothes, footsteps, etc), I couldn't actually record inside the apartment itself. Instead, this is a loop of the apartment's loading screen instead.
  • Normandy CIC: A loop of the CIC on the Normandy SR2. This one has Shepard's foley effects in it.
  • Normandy Captain's Cabin: A loop of the Captain's Cabin, from Shepard's bed. For that authentic "I'm sleeping in Shepard's bed on the Normandy" experience.
Due to complications, all the tracks are in mono. However, all of them last for 30 minutes, and loop without any noticeable audio 'seam'. Hope you enjoy!

I'm no scholar, and I'm too tatty with my facial hair to be considered a gentleman. But I do what I can.

I've always found that certain ambient music, especially from ME1 can be effective. the "Pad Loop" or "Bass Loop" for example, or even the ambient sounds from Ilos. that in particular can be very oooooooh.

I've also found that different tracks have different relaxation levels. the ME2 Afterlife main theme definitely relaxes your body when you've just come back home from work and you feel wiped.

if anyone is interested, let me know. I've already ripped them, ready to be uploaded.

I've made a personal Mass Effect Radio playlist on my Vita that has all of the diagetic and 'licensed' music from the three games. This includes the elevator muzak on the Citadel, the Mezzanine music from Noveria, the ME1 music from the Sound System in ME2, both levels of Afterlife, Darkstar music, Eternity music, Hock's party music, the ME2 tracks from the Shadow Broker Music Datapad, Purgatory's music, the Sound System music from ME3, the Personal Apartment Party music, the Armax Arsenal Arena lobby music, the music from Silver Coast Casino (both the catwalk and the music during and after the mission there), and of course the end credits music for ME1 and 3.

Needless to say, it's pretty awesome to have on loop on a Sunday afternoon. Where I could, I've used the proper track and artist names (so instead of Lower Afterlife, it's called Lo Fi Epic). Much of the Party Music from the Citadel DLC's party evades me, however.

It is! Pretty awesome to sit down at my computer with the ME3 Sound System music thumping in the background. Good choices, Bioware!

Sorry about that! My Dropbox is rather full so I deleted it a few days ago to make way for different stuff.
