You already got your answer. Because it's an optional choice, it'll be a cameo/codex. There is no way he will play any significant role.
He might not even BE Anders anymore if spared

House, you're a bit slow on the mark there.Mr.House wrote...
Anders VA was changed in DA2 because his va in DA:A wast he same VA as Cullen from DAo. Since Cullen was also a important character in the game, they decided to find a new VA for Anders. I highly doubt they are getting a new VA because reasons.Orian Tabris wrote...
Where are you getting this information from?AresKeith wrote...

I'm going to call BS on the "half the players spared Anders." Even if there is a "legitimate" reason to spare him, most people don't even pay attention to the lore and will kill him outright because of what he did.
Other than that, you're just going to have to be disappointed, and at best expect a codex/cameo. There is no way he's going to have as significant of a role as you're hoping.
Since Anders VA isn't gonna be in DA:I
I'm guessing if players spared him, then Vengeance fully takes over his body as a demon
If you recall, Anders' voice in DA2 is not the same as in Origins (for whatever reason, I don't actually know).
@hhh89. You're even slower!

I think that would fall under the "Unavoidable grim and sinister fate" mentioned in the title.

This is the perfect example of how pathetic the BSN is. Always going around in circles... Ares, someone already said that.

You're not dealing in cold hard facts; you're dealing with speculation Mr. '2010-08-13'. As the other user pointed out, female Shepard is all over the place on the internet with plenty of people saying FemShep is realShep. According to Bioware, 20% actually play as FemShep. Forums, internet polls, etc. are NOT a good indicator of how the general audience is. I would speculate he's kept alive in more cases than not if only because I think most people tend to be more withdrawn to losing party members than anything or the fact that he's a healer.Rassler wrote...

Drop the attitude, jerk. Get off your damned high horse. And please give me a source for your so called 40%.Rassler wrote...
How amusing. Your join dates and not participating in DA2 forum section has made you ignorant. You were not around to see the Anders fans it seems, pity. AT THE VERY LEAST 40% of players let Anders live. I find it quite childish that you cannot think outside of the box, the box being your own opinion of Anders. His thread was much more popular than Fenris's. The only male character with more fans was Varric and I don't think that needs any explaining. I mean just look at this thread, 10 people who liked and let anders live appeared in this very thread in less than 5 minutes. But feel free to fool yourself that Anders is dead in most playthtoughs. I will not argue about this further so don't bother.
If dealing in cold hard facts makes me a jerk so be it. There can never be a static showing how many killed/spared Anders. He doesn't have a source and I don't have one either but I have been around long enough to see there are many Anders fans and those who kept him alive. There were many threads in here and talk pages of wiki. I can't be bothered to find them all for you just to prove a fact to you but here look at some of them. I just spend 15 minutes fidning these for you and yes rigth after you called me a jerk. As you read them you will see that half the people usually kept him alive, for reasons of their own. At best Anders fans and people who spared outnumber those who didn't. But I am not here to boast about this. I'm here to discuss what happens if he is spared. Stop arguing about numbers, please.

Also, keep in mind that DA:I is going for the hope that sales will be much higher than DA:II who's sales were fine, but still not up to par with DA:O. There's a good chance that only about half the people who play DA:I will not even have beaten DAII. Of course, I think newcomers who use the keep will most likely leave him alive if they don't use a default state since they see more variables in keeping people around.

To me, that post you quoted was an example of just how jaded and lacking of faith, people are of BioWare.

I think House meant that the scenario of Justice or Anders being the big bad guy of DAI would be a boring scenario, not my post.

No, I was referring to Cullen and Anders. I have always known that Izzy's voice was changed because it was the voice of Anora... In fact, long before you even came to this site (or at least joined, assuming you did not just make another account).Veruin wrote...

Anora and Isabela shared the same VA in Origins as well.
