You don't need any DLC to continue Liara's romance^^

I don't think you have to have LotSB to pursue Liara in ME3.
I think if you read the flags when importing save to ME3, it will say "Didn't romance anyone in ME2" even if you did LoTSB. Meaning LotSB may not be considered as an actual game romance because its a dlc.
Besides, if you pursue Liara in ME1 and then play ME2, you can check at Illium if you still have the relationship. She will kiss Shepard if they had a relationship in ME1.
So yeah, once you find Liara in ME3, she will bring up a dialogue about your relationship. You could then say yes in continuing it. Plus, you can seal the deal once you meet her in the Citadel by the cafe.

Events from LOTSB will be referenced, but no. It's not required.

Referenced only if you edit your save though? And it always struck me as daft that you still had to confirm it again so far into the game. Should have been done on/after mars.

Definitely purchase SB. One of the top 2 or 3 DLC's. Unless you have no interest in playing ME2 anymore.

To put it bluntly: to keep all your options open.
I eh... I went with Miranda in the end.

Yeah, it's a game and they wanted to give the player the options. In a real life situation I think LotSB with Shepard and a Liara romance from ME1 should have set the romance tag for ME3 from the beginning. Just my opinion. That is if you chose that option in LotSB.

I agree, but I don't mean automatically do it but give the option at that point. Would stop the weird half friendzoning that goes on, but also mean people can change if they want.

This comes off like you have hang ups about it. I don't see anything wrong in making the right decision.

If you've got a few extra bucks, do yourself a favor and download LotSB though. Its one of the best DLCs Bioware has done. I consider it essential if you're going the Liaramance route as well.

Perhaps^^ Fretting about betraying virtual LIs does seem a bit over the top:p
