so i made a mage hoping to make him a SH/BM. leveled up to lvl 6, bought the SH book from the wonders of thedas shop in denerim. weird thing is it did say SPECIALIZATION UNLOCKED: SPIRIT HEALER. i leveled up to lvl 7 but nothing, the specialization was still locked. and now the books gone. one guy said that it only relocked if u turned off the xbox and such( i dont know the guys name atm) , but i didnt turn it off.

so i looked up in the internet and all i keep reading is that save file is corrupt and that im screwed, that sort of things. i didnt look up in here to check if people have similar problems, if not the same because i didnt know this website even existed, bummer.....anyways

i continued playing thinking it was me who had done  something wrong before and it was my fault that  the book didnt work.. got all the way to redcliff got my blood mage specialization and nothing, same deal, said it was unlocked blah blah, but i couldnt spend points in it because it was still locked.

anyways id be relieved if someone else had the same issue ( i dont want to be an ass) cause im starting to think im the only one thats getting screwed this way.

again i dont know if anyone had written the same thing as me or anything, cant read all the posts, not in a couple of hours anyways.

anything to get me from thinking im totally screwed and the only way to play normally again is for bioware to update and starting a new game would be deeply appreciated.

This problem is directly related to the title update (patch) that was released briefly with RTO and then pulled. You probably downloaded the update as many others did. Sorry, I don't know how to hyperlink so please just cut/paste that into your browser. Go to page 7 and the top post is mine with the fix. If you feel inclined you can read further down and see some of the responses. The basic gist of it is that the 6 step method I posted is excessive, but works. I could certainly come up with a shorter, revised one but I don't have a way to test it so that wouldn't be fair.

The basic idea is that you first need to:
1. Clear your Xbox's cache. (You go to MyXbox in your dash and go to the memory settings for your HDD. If you push Y, one of the options will be clear cache. Don't worry, clearing the cache only removes recent updates. It won't affect saves, settings, etc.)
2. The file for your specializations is backed up somewhere out there on some server so you just have to trick the game into going to look for that file. Either load up a save from before the patch or start a new char and play for a few.
3. Once you save and quit (possibly excessive but better safe than sorry) and then load up the game again all your specializations that you've unlocked should come back.

just what i feared lol new character.. anyways ill try to look for a pre patch save, i think i might have one..
