Will you be including any of the DLC outside of the Extended Cut?

I just picked up the Mass Effect Trilogy for PS3 on Monday. I finished up Mass Effect 1 last night, and then started on Mass Effect 2. First time playing the games and I really enjoy them so far. I'm definitely gonna go back and play ME1 again because for some reason I stupidly thought I was going to be able to still play after I beat the game (silly me!) and there were still a few side missions I wanted to do. I'll start over with a new character and probably be a Renegade the second time around. For this play through I'm going the Paragon route.

Hey Raven, as a heads up, ME2 and 3 support being able to keep playing after finishing the story, although ME3 does it by sending you back to before the point of no return. Hope that helps!

That's awesome, thanks! I'm not sure why I thought that, I should have searched Google before I finished up the game, lol! But thanks again!

I started a new playthrough last week and am on Me2 now with my paragon adept. It is actualy alot easier on ME2 since I found out warp detonates pull and singularity. I've never realy used adepts before now it is interesting all the varrying stratedgys it gives me.

I started a new Playthrough a couple weeks ago. I'm now a level 34 vangaurd. I'm attempting 100% mission completion. I already have some of the rarest items Too. (berserker x HMWP pistol X hmwsg shotgun x - To be continued...) But I never go renegade. And I always stay faithful to ashley (Lol please don't judge me on that.) I also am 100% Paragon.

I finished a trilogy playthrough the other day. I was a female engineer paragon on the PS3

Most of the time I play as a renegade.

I didn't get round to playing Me3 as my gaming PC went boom and I was off gaming for a little while due to the joys of work and being overseas, but having built a new box (and lovely it is) I decided to head to Me3 land via a replay of ME1 and 2.

Now about 1/4 way through Me3 on PC, having played Me1 and 2 and all DLCs on the way. Have really enjoyed it, indeed I think it plays better as three games together than individual games on release.

I loved Me1 (I loved KoTOR and NWN so came to Me1 with that mindset really more than a shooting one) and I had a few issues being engaged in Me2, it didn't completely catch me (I started a play through on Xbox and gave up, controller rather than PC and mouse is just plain weird) but this time it was a great and engaging experience.

So PC all the way with the same character this time and its considerably more fun.

Femshep Sentinel and much enjoying it.

I'll be sad when its done but I think I'll try a completer finisher go at Dragon Age next.

I can vouch for this; my first dip into the Mass Effect universe was a two month extended session playing the entire Trilogy for the first time, all at once. The first game wasn't all that impressive because it's let down hugely by its presentation; the second and third games are much more immersive once Bioware got the EA budget treatment (Burnout had a similar thing with the differences between Burnout 2 and Burnout 3). That on top of a lot of other weird and awkward approaches to things (UNC worlds, Inventory management, text-based tutorials and other things like that).

There's a lot of story momentum that carries over between the games, in particular ME1's ending of "I'll find a way to stop the Reapers" going to ME2's flying around in space just before the Collectors show up. The latter feels like a natural continuation of the former. Sadly, playing it in one go does expose how irrelevant the Collectors are to the overall plot of stopping the Reapers. The connection they had between one another needed to be emphasized more, what the Collectors were doing with the colonists made clearer, and have the characters appear more worried about it.

The saving grace is how it connects to Cerberus in ME3; the Illusive Man clearly wasn't in it for the colonists and he was just using that to get Shepard to defeat the Collectors so he could salvage their technology in anticipation for the Reaper war. And getting the human Reaper embryo and putting it right next to his office I think was also the trigger for the huge step up Cerberus took in ME3 with becoming a full military force that implants their troops with Reaper tech. We know with cases like the Leviathan of Dis and the derelict Reaper that they can indoctrinate even when dead, so it isn't much of a stretch to think that the human Reaper could have done that too.

I would say that is a major problem with ME2's story, namely that it has no connection to the Reaper threat. You should have spent ME2 searching for a way to defeat the Reapers or learn more about them rather than fighting Collectors. The Collector story should have been turned into an expansion pack instead. Then you could have chosen whether you wanted to associate with the Alliance or Cerberus in order to solve the problem.
Again this is a big problem caused by not planning ahead and the result is the contrived story we got in ME3.

I liked ME3 for its linearity, but it only jives well with Paragon stories; Renegades suddenly start caring about the fate of earth and a kid in a hoodie.

Again, I think the Collector issue could have been solved with a few steps.

1) Make it much plainer that the Collectors are agents of the Reapers.

2) To facilitate 1, make the Collectors look more like Reapers and the forces we were to face in ME3.

3) Explain why the Collectors are taking colonists sooner than just before the end of the game. Without that explanation the Collectors are an empty threat because we don't know what they're doing.

4) Have people appear more visibly worried about the Collectors than not at all. Everyone pissed themselves in ME1 and 3 over the Reapers, but not in 2 over the Collectors.

5) Have someone state, in a fearful tone, that the Collectors building a human Reaper would strike a deathblow to the galaxy before the Reapers even show up.

6) Have the Collectors steal more races; taking just humans is small-time compared to a total galactic extinction.

And this last one is more to do with ME2's relevance overall: have people question whether the Illusive Man is really in it for saving the colonists or just wants whatever's beyond the Omega-4 Relay.

My playthrough got pushed back because of the glitch or whatever on the ps3 where it freezes and your saves becomes corrupted! I'm not too mad about it though, even though I was 20 hours in. I'm on the collector mission now (mass effect 2).

I cannot decide on a class for a full trilogy run. I seem to have exhausted my two favorite classes.

Should I go Infiltrator or Vanguard? Maybe Soldier? I plan to go Earthborn/War Hero with a mostly paragon attitude (despite having some renegade moments).

How does doing the citadel DLC after the mehem ending work?  I have the Mehem, LOV It, but i've played the citadel (also love it) before the last battle.  Do you just stop after the party?

I am going to do a Liara playthrough. My first few times I've been exploring all the other storylines and generally playing the field flirting with my WHOLE crew.

I don't understand how people still don't see the relevance of the Collectors and the Reapers. The Collector threat was the Reaper threat. Shepard stopped the Collectors, forcing the Reaper's to drastically change their invasion plan, and forcing them out of the shadows.

Well, not all side-missions. Some of them demand that you return to the Citadel. The ideal is to finish all the side-missions prior to return to the citadel after Udina requests your presence. After that, you may never return.

Yeah, just about to start a new trilogy run sometime in the coming month. Gonna aim to do some stuff I've never done before so: infiltrator, Kaidan romance, various others that don't come to mind at the moment. Have to finish my current dragon age and kotor runs first, though.

It's been two years since I last touched these games. Decided to start a new trilogy playthrough tonight and am going to take the story as slow as I can to savor it.
